Hi, I live and Switzerland and found out about Ron Paul's program a few weeks ago.
I've been a libertarian for many years and I had seen Ron Paul name many times but I've never looked into his program. The reason is, I've never believed that a libertarian candidate could have a voice in current political systems - let alone have a chance to become president of a country.
The thing is, it's very difficult to exprime a libertarian viewpoint without being taken for a lunatic these days. People have long accepted that big governements telling us how to behave in every aspects of our lives are necessary and it's near impossible to express a different point of view.
Now if Ron Paul starts getting big media coverage in the USA and in european countries, that would give us libertarians a reference. We could back our ideas with real exemples.
The election of Ron Paul as president of the US or even his nomination would certainly give an impulsion in other countries to start reducing the size of their governments as well.
