Ron Paul (or other campaign official) should have talked to the business owner to remove media from the restaurant.

Keep them outside while he talked to voters inside the restaurant. This way, it wouldn't have come off as ignoring them.

For future reference, before meeting voters in small places, contact the property owner AHEAD OF TIME, to remove or LIMIT media inside so it doesn't get so bad.

Your thoughts?

Sounds reasonable.

(Though the politician inside me thinks we likely gained more votes from the video and stories about the media chaos, then we lost votes from disappointed voters inside the diner.)

A good idea that only makes sense after an incident like this. How were they to know more media would show up than had ever shown up to one of the meetings in the past several decades? Some of those reporters have gone on record saying they've never seen a candidate mob rush like that before at this early in the election cycle.

What it shows, is how absolutely STUPID the media is. Seriously, who in their right mind wants to JAM inside a restaurant where you have to walk in a line to try and get to the candidate? The fact they were all crammed inside I thought just showed their stupidity, and the chaos was absolutely not needed by them. RP's campaign didn't do it, but common sense isn't really common these days...I work fast food, and deal with your "average" or perhaps "below average" thinking Americans on a daily basis. It seems many of the ones I deal with may be local media people. I had no idea until I saw this video.

the tactic is celebrity stalker. the one thing the ignoble news blackout did is keep the press snobbishly mannered!
