Campaign needs the money NOW, not the next money bomb

I would like to know where to check the figures you mention. Then I won't need a ticker. :)
Here's one I've been following. The longer-time range doesn't seem accurate as everything has the same starting point if it doesn't have old data.

The graph for raised today, yesterday, in the last week should all be accurate though. You can see a spike just from the last hour or so.

I just wish the site would $0-out the left side of the graph, so it's easier to read the amount raised in that time period. Right now you have to eyeball the start dollar amount and the end amount.

If they really needed money, they would do more than send out an email which they should have realized isn't that effective.

I have worked on digital marketing campaigns for Fortune 500 companies and I can tell you email marketing is highly effective to get people to spend.

I agree. Yes, you need to promote the moneybomb, but you can also promote to donate now.. as opposed to Dec. 16th. But of course, there must be a theme to it.. For 1st place in Iowa.

Agreed. It seems so damn obvious! It doesn't even need to be a ticker that stays on the homepage the whole time (could just be one of the scrolling items).

In 2007, there was a "$12 Million To Win" ticker. It was awesome. When you see the goal the campaign has set, psychologically it makes you donate more because you want to reach the goal. It's almost like a game. It also makes you promote harder.

PLEASE JUST PUT UP A DAMN TICKER!

Thank you for your generous donation to the Ron Paul 2012 Presidential Campaign Committee. Your contribution to Ron will help fuel the fight to return this country to the principles that made it great.

Here are your transaction details:
Donation amount: $65.00
Transaction date/time: 2011-12-05 21:06:14
Transaction ID: 6CF52583PE3465642

I'm sorry if the Tea Party moneybomb promoters are upset by this, but the fact is the campaign has been repeatedly asking for money NOW. We don't need 1 big day of donations. We used to do those as a way to get media attention and as a feel good measure. We need to get over that now and give them the money now, so they can WIN! I have gotten tons of letters from them in the regular mail and in email. To say they haven't been asking for money is quite disingenuous.

I've been repping everyone who has donated, so post your transaction receipts!

I agree with this sentiment. I think the money bombs still have value (encourages first time donors, makes people feel like their donation is a part of something bigger, underscores core principles, etc...) but my understanding was that they were generally for media attention. It seems now that the only way to elevate the campaign beyond that level of attention is to win a caucus/primary and the best way to use money to accomplish that milestone is to donate as early as possible. Just my 2 cents.

Let's see how this works out. I can update it as often as I can if people find it helpful. I started from zero at 9:47 PM EST 12/5/11.

What do you think of calling it a push instead of a mini moneybomb? Also, I could make a better graphic, if you would like, for I have Photoshop.

Actually, you are wrong. The campaign needs money for the two weeks running up to Iowa which is December 19th to January 2nd.
A. Buying ads further out can be cheaper
B. Ad space may sell out with other campaigns flooding the market trying to win
