Campaign makes TV Ad buy in Rhode Island

Does anyone remember Virginia? A lot of people were questioning why the campaign didn't make much of an effort there, when he did much better than expected. Many were saying that if he only would have done more in Virginia he could have won. Hindsight is 20-20. So what if Ron Paul does much better than expected without puting in any effort whatsoever in RI? Will people say, "if only he would have done a little more in RI, he could have won!".

What? They should be putting everything in Texas.

There has been at least 1 staff member in RI for awhile. I know because he was at a couple liberty related meeting in NH a few weeks ago.

Why in the world do they keep buying ads in Romney country it's driving me crazy.

The campaign is so focused on the proportional states that it's missing the big kahunas.

This reminds me a lot of Pre-Super Tuesday and Virginia where we spent 0 time and money and almost won but the days prior we wasted our money on proportional states because they can't let go of the "plan."

Paul did speak in VA. Actually, he has spoken 100s of times in the VA area. His national HQ is in VA and so on. Anyway, I don't understand how anyone could think Paul had a chance to win VA without winning any of the previous states. VA is the home of both Gingrich and Santorum. It was amazing that they didn't file in VA and really helped Paul there. Plus, some Gingrich supporters encouraged other Gingrich supporters to vote for Paul.

25 million people live in Texas. Even if they spent every dime they had, they'd barely make a scratch. We just have to rely on grassroots activism and the fact that Paul's a Texan.

This buy is very important and critical. In looking at the last three National Polls taken without Santorum the average is:

Romney 55%
Gingrich 21%
Paul 15%
Others/Undecided 9%

Ron needs to do well in the Northeast next Tuesday, especially it is critical to beat Gingrich and become the anti-Romnney.

The more Ad Buys the better, particularly in Proportional States

Lol, half the states have voted and people are still talking about being the "anti-Romney". All the fighting over becoming the "anti-Romney" was what allowed Romney to win so many states unscathed

If we win Rhode Island we could have an excuse to start a permanent Ron Paul surge and start going on a counter offensive against Mitt!

Well, Newt has already stated I think he is going after Delaware, so if RP's campaign could win one, and Newt win another...at least that would help, HOPEFULLY, some people see Romney doesn't have it finalized.

I doubt Newt Gingrich can win anything with no money and visits to zoos while Paul and Romney hits the campaign trail.

Yes, any state win at this stage would be huge. I hope the campaign zeros in on our best state and basically ignores the rest. We need a win and some momentum or all the delegates in all the caucus states aren't going to matter.

Does anyone know if the Campaign has an official office and staff in Rhode Island???

If so, what is the address and telephone number??

Some of you need to stop freaking out.
They only dumped $40k into the RI ad buy.
I agree, they could have maybe picked a better ad; but honestly, I cannot speak for the GOP dynamic in RI.
Perhaps some research showed that fiscal conservatives were the best targets?
Perhaps the civil liberties people are already voting Paul?
Who knows? It is very hard to assess without research, and we do not know what research (if any) was done by the campaign.

Also, focusing some ads on RI is not categorically a bad idea.
Rhode Island is basically one city (Providence) with some suburbs.
It is a very small and an easy media market to buy into.
Perhaps the $40k goes a long way in that market.

Rhode Island is proportional and a semi-open primary, so it is very likely that we will at least get some delegates out of this state.
