With Tancredo dropping out, Pat Buchanan's sister Bay (who is running Tancredo's campaign) is out of a job.

She's a crabby old bat, but she is a very talented political operative. For example, she engineered Pat's surprise 1996 victory in New Hampshire. And her philosophy is as close to RP's as anyone in modern politics.

Hire her now, before one of the other campaigns picks her up.

Pauliacs -- please reach out to the official campaign and suggest this!

With Tancredo, she didn't have a lot to work with. I'm not suggesting we should put her in charge or anything -- just that she could play a role.

Again -- she could come in useful in states like New Hampshire, and say -- South Carolina.

Also, while we're at it -- she has some reasonable amount of credibility as a conservative political operative. The cable news outlets would report it as a sign we're serious about what we're doing.

I don't know about Bay Buchanan. I've heard a lot of bad stories about her. I heard Pat won inspite of her, not because of her. I'm sure Ron will hire her if she is really good and he needs her.

She has helped other candidates in the past besides Tancredo, and obviously not all have been succesful. Last year I met her at a rally for John Hostettler, where she was the moderator for several conservative people who gave speeches stumping for Hostettler. Phyllis Schlaffy, Jim Gilchrist, Michael Cutler, and a few more were there. She is a very compotent speaker, and apparently a pretty good organizer, if in fact she was the one who put the panel together. I don't know what role she should play in Paul's campaign but I'd say it couldn't hurt. I mean, the woman worked with Ronald Reagan and her brother is Pat Buchanan. That has to be worth something!

I've met her too, and she doesn't have the worlds most pleasing personality... But she is the kind of person who is experienced at Presidential politics that might come in handy.

One thing we know about the top tier of the campaign -- they are long-time supporters of Dr. Paul, and very loyal -- but don't have a lot of experience in Presidential campaigns.

Also - this would prevent one of the other 'marginal' candidates from picking her up and using her against us...

As I said -- just a suggestion.

They should put her on Michigan and South Carolina. ESPECIALLY South Carolina, were at 11% and it wouldnt take much more to win. After that, move her to Cali. They dont mind a little more abrasive politics and Pat did pretty well there.

Well, it would seem the official campaign is reaching out to the Tancredo people since the Minutemen guy says he's jumping to RP as soon as the Tancredo announcement is official.

Hopefully, they'll keep an eye out for other Tancredo resources to corral.

It would probably be worth it just for the occasional mentions from Pat Buchanan. How many times have you heard him talk about Tancredo just because his sister was working for him?

She's not crabby at all. She's incredibly NICE. I've talked to her on the phone before when asking about a campaign.

I have a friend who worked for the Buchanan campaign and he had absolutely nothing good to say about Bay Buchanan. I'm very concerned about immigration so I had contributed to Tancredo's campaign early on, but not after I heard he had hired Bay.

Your friend probably couldn't cut the mustard and was a lazy sod.

Does she help with Pat's campaigns?
Because Pat is brilliant when he's writing, but when he's on the campaign trail he acts like a loon. A divisive loon.

Dr. Paul doesn't need a slick operative to help him out. The truth doesn't need to be spun.
