(Called for KERRY B!) Field Report From Bentivolio Race / Official Results Thread

The victory party is well under way atm (started @ 9:30) and I'm sure Kerry has a smile on his face a mile wide. Would've liked to attend but was too beat, tho I won't miss the party after the general now that most of the hard work is out of the way.

Dude, you are the man. MEGA-REP

Less flippantly, he is doing well where Ron did well. Tying him to Ron isn't exactly terrible, everywhere. And many who wouldn't want Ron as president still value him as congressman.

we will be approaching mathematical impossibility, nevermind statistical improbability, soon

I don't know... you know it is very hard to count all those write-ins Nancy got, plus all the local media said this one might take days to be decided.

but the media seems very facile, they turned on a dime about who was the long shot, didn't they?

If Kerry or RPwas on the losing end, they would've declared this race over already.

Bob Parker in MO-8 as well.

I think some threads got merged, and I just finished dinner so I've been AFK for a bit, but how is Bob doing? I was a fan of his back when I lived in MO-8 and hope he beats Emerson, but I have a nagging feeling he won't. :(

down by 66 to 33 or so. Not a contest. And yes it was a bad thread merge as the official results thread contained both MO and MI results now it is a primarily MI results thread with nowhere for the MO results to go.

Instead of having one Ron Paul in the House. Now we will have three carbon copies! Not to mention some pretty solid liberty-leaning members too! Talk about changing the culture! Love it!

Note: We need to make sure that Amash and Bentivolio get a lot of attention the next couple of months. It is not in the bag yet.

It's interesting if they go with this explanation. They're blatantly calling thier readers stupid.

You don't look at/read individually the write ins at this point. You just count KB's votes and all the write in votes. Only if those who voted for ANY write in are close to or higher than the count for KB do you verify that they were cast for a specific write in candidate.

So unless "write in" we're winning, counting the ballots for this race is no different than counting the votes for any other race.

I hope you are right, but AFTER they are elected is when the pressure to conform becomes tough to resist. It isn't just the negative pressure but the goodies of appointments where you are tempted to get a bigger platform from which to 'do good'.

All the same, I'm thrilled they have done so well.
