I had read a little of some of the other threads in the California section, which pretty much say "get out now". While I don't disagree with that assessment, since the state is in deep DEEP trouble, especially in the aftermath of the election, I can't really say the same.

My mother's side of the family has been in the state for 6 generations, and at this point the land here is written in my DNA. I'll probably be going down with the ship, so to speak, so I figure it's time to get involved personally.

On that note, I was wondering if anyone here has dealt with or within the California GOP at all? Their sites are really a mess and information seems to be slim. I'm currently living in San Diego but I'm registered in Alameda County.

Yes there are lots of different factions of the liberty movement moving into GOP territory.

And S.D. Tea Party

Join both, build bridges with the Tea Party and take down the neocons :)

Its already in effect throughout the state, sooner or later we will control the largest county GOPs in the state. 2014 will be a good year for us.

I was more interested in information about official party business, but I assume they're all in mourning right now.

Is the SD Tea Party all legit? Pardon my skepticism regarding the group considering how much the idea was co-opted by non-liberty folks.

You will learn more about the party from Ron Paul insiders who are currently working through the system than you will from any GOP website or calling their offices and asking how to change their own party from within. You have to be working with other grassroots coordinators to have any real effect.

I'm giving you the choice to join the SD Tea Party not so you can talk Ron Paul with them but so you can 'build bridges' like I mentioned earlier. Going in by yourself as a liberty/Ron Paul'er is difficult enough but you'll find that sometimes teaming up with other factions like the Tea Party will yield attractive results.

Be skeptical all you want but for what its worth, these are my experiences from my own journey and I have done enough to know what I'm talking about.

Good Luck.

@Virtual, The CAGOP is a disaster. They no longer had funds to keep their office and had to layoff staff. They are ripe for the picking in 2014.

for the Liberty Movement to become a Political Force, we must show up. We have to work with Conservative Republicans who have been fighting the big government statists for years. We're doing well in some counties, but in 2014, we must run candidates for every State Assembly, State Senate, Congress, US Senate and Statewide Race (5 offices and 5 BOE seats) and get our central committee members to keep their seats.

No election for Central Committee in 2014, so each [county] committee must determine how it will determine new members. We have to get our supporters to show up if there are conventions. Continue to build your lists and attend Republican Meetings in your area and don't just focus on the Ron Paul movement.

The time to fight among ourselves has past, we must unite and bring the fight to the statists in the Democratic Party as they are our enemies. It's no longer about Ron Paul, it's about his message of Liberty. We lost the race for chair in LA County by two votes, but the conservatives saw their vote wasn't wasted and supported the rest of our candidates. Four of the 7 elected officers are Paul supports, 1 is Log Cabin Republican, 1 more leans our way and the chair is backed by the "New Majority" newmajority.[com] which is a moneyed interest purging constitutionalists in other counties.
