Cafferty file is about Ron Paul today

If Ron Paul's support is as low as some of the (unscientific?) polls suggest, how come he can raise more than $6 million in one day?

The major media outlets are still working from the assumption that archaic polling methods are still the best way to gauge support for a candidate. Pollsters pride themselves on massaging the data and targeting particular demographics. For that reason alone, polls often have skewed results.

Ron Paul's campaign success is speaking volumes to those who are listening.

"Jack, I'd have to say that it's because the media aren't doing their job and giving him a fair portion of the coverage. Polls are altered or changed. His name is left out of articles that layout all the candidates. New channels banish his interviews to the internet because they lack courage. Ron Paul is constantly told by pundits that he "can't win." Last I checked that is in the hands of the people, not the TV talking heads.

One must wonder what motivates the media and the corporations to try and keep the people in the dark about the good Dr. Ron Paul. Are they scared of what he represents? Are they scared of the voice of the people, for the people and by the people? As more and more people learn about Ron Paul they will begin to ask themselves these same questions. What is the establishment (Republican AND Democrats) so afraid of? It may just work to Ron Paul's favor in the end."

that's my letter :D

My reply:

In many polls the requirements for selection is being a likely Republican voter with a landline. It is defined as someone who voted Republican (Bush) in the 2004 election. I am a Republican but voted 3rd party on principle last election and I only have a cell phone so I wouldn’t get polled.

Donors are also people who have been disaffected from politics, young first-time voters, Constitution Party, Libertarian, Independent, and yes disgruntled Democrats who realize that he would end the war.

The big story on the fundraising is that is averages out to around $100 per donor. In other words, the numbers are corporate, lobbyist, bundlers but average American patriots.

Time will tell if the polls are right. Looking forward to January!

I think poll numbers are being jacked because in many cases you have to hit "other" to select Ron Paul in many polls, and there were all those cases reported last week of people hitting "other" only to be disconnected and unsubscribed from future polling.

Here's my response...

I don't think the polls accurately reflect the support Ron Paul has throughout the country. Most of his support comes from people who have never been politically active in the past. And many of the major polls target "likely voters" and those lists are sure to exclude most of Paul's supporters.

If people are willing to give millions of dollars to Paul's campaign, I think it's highly likely they will follow up on their investment by voting for him.

My email:
National polls are archaic and will soon fall by the wayside like 8 track tapes, VHS tapes, and yes, landline phones. These polls absolutely do not reflect what is really on the horizon of the political landscape today. The sun is about to rise, and it's name is Ron Paul.

Because the polls you show use the antiquated method of calling landlines only and do not reach out to the vast numbers of people that just have cellphones. Because the polls you show question only voters from the previous election and have no clue how many new voters are waiting off the radar ready to elect Ron Paul. Because Ron Paul is a serious threat to the establishment. But you folks in the media already knew that.

My response:

Ron Paul's message is resonating with a segment of the population that doesn't usually subscribe to traditional media services and, as such, doesn't lend itself well to traditional polling methods. For example, my wife and I, both soon-to-be first time presidential voters in college, do not use a landline phone and so have never been called to give our opinion on the political landscape. Our voice is heard through forums and blogs across the internet and by our online donations to Dr. Paul's campaign.
