CA GOP Senate Front-Runner Tom Campbell bows to Pressure from Israel Firsters

Campbell is a complete joke. He says he wants to reign spending in, but refuses to decrease military spending. Not only another Israel-firster, but a stupidity 1st, math 2nder. Republicans again will lose to Boxer by sending in a complete moron as their candidate.

This is old news.

All three GOP candidates for Senate have assured voters that they will stand with Israel. It's not an issue that can be used to separate the three.

If you want differences, Carly Fiorina is a RINO, hand-picked by the establishment, and fully-endorsed by the mainstream media. She is firmly in the John McCain/Joe Lieberman camp.

As the story references, Campbell has stood in the past for limiting some budget increases (not reducing existing aid) in the face of opposition from the Israel lobby.

DeVore has said that he leans towards the Reagan/Weinberger doctrine on foreign deployment.

DeVore and Campbell are proven fiscal conservatives, with Constitutional and libertarian leanings in different areas.

The Weinberger doctrine:

1. The United States should not commit forces to combat unless the vital national interests of the United States or its allies are involved.
2. U.S. troops should only be committed wholeheartedly and with the clear intention of winning. Otherwise, troops should not be committed.
3. U.S. combat troops should be committed only with clearly defined political and military objectives and with the capacity to accomplish those objectives.
4. The relationship between the objectives and the size and composition of the forces committed should be continually reassessed and adjusted if necessary.
5. U.S. troops should not be committed to battle without a "reasonable assurance" of the support of U.S. public opinion and Congress.
6. The commitment of U.S. troops should be considered only as a last resort.

I suppose anything is better than Boxer, but like I said before, Campbell claiming to be fiscally responsible and not wanting to lower military spending is a complete breakdown of logic. I only know that Campbell said this because of an email his campaign sent me recently. I'm sure Devore and Fiorina are similar, but not sure.

The Weinberger doctrine is completely useless because it doesn't define what "vital national interests" is. It can be anything. That same doctrine can be used to justify indefinite occupation of both Iraq and Afghanistan. We should deploy troops when our borders are directly threatened, and never in any other situation.

Is it my imagination, or is the Pro-Israel propaganda machineout in full force these days? Seems like they've gone on a war footing.

Maybe it's just because of Holocaust Remembrance Day.

Like I said, that article is almost a month old.
