CA - Cops break elderly man's neck during traffic stop

Yes, the need to arrest everybody on-site has gotten out of hand. Take down their information, tell them to expect charges in the mail, and call it a day.

Very rarely is an arrest actually justified or necessary. But where's the fun in that?

Yeah, they should save the arrest for O-dark thirty in the morning so they can pretend they are doing something even more fun when they invade someones home and shoot their dog.

Just spitballing here, but maybe we need a completely new tool of enforcement against this. What about something like State-level statutory disincorporation of cities that get three-strikes with letting their PD junkyard dogs off the leash? Three strikes (define some level of criminal/civil damage which counts as a strike) and your city's corporation is dissolved by the State forthwith, three-year moratorium on re-incorporation, and the roster of all sitting officers are forever censured from holding office in any city corporation in that same city. This is actually a proportional punishment, IMO, and it aligns the incentives correctly, because the buck stops with the city to set the policies that permit or prevent these dangerous junkyard dogs to stay around on their PDs.

If I was a young man and this happened to my father , grandfather etc I would personally hunt them down . Anything else is unacceptable . Pretty much what is wrong with this country of pussies . Bad people feel they are allowed to do whatever because they will not be held accountable.

(b) Within 60 days of the date of this order, the Attorney General shall review all ongoing Federal consent decrees, out-of-court agreements, and post-judgment orders to which a State or local law enforcement agency is a party and modify, rescind, or move to conclude such measures that unduly impede the performance of law enforcement functions.

.

Would probably be simpler if the cops just shot everybody first and figured circumstances out later. With the shiny new immunity they’ll soon have it would cut down on paperwork and make things way more efficient
