Why in the world would you assume that the person shooting was pro-legalization?

If he was opposed to it, I doubt he would have wanted to hang out with tens of thousands of people promoting it. The gang member angle is highly possible.

Not representative of the legalizing marijuana crowd as a whole. Not that the weedman in the OP's picture is, either.

Probably gang related. (in some vague way, at least) Maybe a robbery gone bad. (I imagine people had pounds of kush and other high grade medicinal cannabis which sells for thousands of dollars a pound)

It's a shame. A laid back celebration and some idiot has to mess it up.

Huge gatherings of pot smokers have been going on for many decades. Pink Floyd concerts, Earth Day celebrations, Cyprus Hill Concerts (with hip hoppy wanna-be gangsters and all), Renaissance Faires, Outdoor Art Festivals, Jazz Festivals, Grateful Dead concerts, you name it, it's been going on forever and a day. Large peaceful gatherings where the majority of people are getting stoned are nothing new.

And I don't recall ever hearing of a shooting, or any other significant act of violence on the news before with one of these gatherings--until a couple states legalize it and a credible public poll comes out showing more than 50% of Americans now favor full legalization.

Denver police told KDVR.com that one of the suspects is believed to be a black male, about 6 feet tall and weighing about 180 pounds. He was reportedly wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, black pants, and a Carolina baseball hat.

The second suspect was described by police as a black male who was wearing a black and white-checkered shirt, the station reported.
