...Former Long Island Democratic Rep. Tom Suozzi will return to Washington, DC, after he emerged victorious in the closely watched race to replace expelled ex-Rep. George Santos in New York’s 3rd Congressional District.

Suozzi, 61, topped Republican candidate Mazi Pilip, who said in a concession speech Tuesday night she called her opponent to congratulate him. Her speech came soon after the Associated Press called the race with 52% of the vote counted in Queens and Long Island...

...Suozzi’s win shrinks the GOP’s majority in the House to only six seats.
