And got all pissed off that my last hope to vote peacefully recently is getting shattered by all this bulshit...

I'm swallowing my pride, holding my nose, and hoping that Obama loses by pulling the lever for McCain....or rather, touching the Diebold screen for McCain...not for party, not for the GOP, but so that Obama doesn't get me vote. I will NOT cast a futile vote for a third party, and I will NOT abstain - both of which are a a vote for Obama.

I've never supported the idea of voting third party, nor have I entertained the idea...just look at my past posts about the issue...

Either way it goes, we're fucked...but if Obama wins, we'll be really, really, really, really, really, FUCKED.

Do you know how the electoral college system works?

Your vote for McCain will make NO DIFFERENCE and has no chance of helping Obama lose.

All of Maryland's votes are going to Obama because he is going to win the state of Maryland with ease- its a STONE COLD LOCK.

Therefore, if you vote for McCain in Maryland, you vote is utterly wasted, because McCain ain't going to win Maryland...

You may as well vote 3rd party in your state- at least then you make a statement. Vote for McCain, and you just LOSE...

Actually, there have been quite a few people BESIDES libertarians who have been fighting TPTB and way before most of you were a twinkle in your Daddy's pants. For some reason, a lot of people on this site now seem to believe this is a Libertarian movement and IT IS NOT. I have seen Libertarians attack anyone and everyone who do not follow lockstep in line with the big "L" Libertarian speak and quite frankly, drive most everyone else off. Maybe this is why the Libertarian Party has NEVER GOTTEN ANYWHERE. Ya think?

So stop requiring everyone to walk lockstep with you on every single issue and be respectful of others' religious beliefs. Stop driving wedges between generations. This used to be a big tent movement. If we have any hopes of getting anywhere, we'd better remember that and remember that soon.

I don't require anyone to walk in lockstep with me. I'm more concerned about the general principles of liberty than any partisan line. I notice the Baldwin and Nader crowds make some valid points. I'm not a "big L" libertarian myself. (Frankly, I wish I didn't have to be in a party to vote)

I think the LP has never gotten anywhere because the establishment has a monopoly on the process and because the sheeple are kept in place by their masters. (tho some of the militant LPers can be a problem) All the republicrats I know just vote against the LP, CP, etc. because they are too intellectually lazy to learn about what real libertarians/freedom advocates are talking about.

I'm in favor of a "big tent" movement, as you say, and I hope more people will begin to realize the value of the liberty movement as things become worse in the coming depression.
