The GOP Ticket is going to be Romney/Santorum, they'll battle it out until toward the bitter end and then Romney's only logical choice will be Santorum because he endorsed him in the last election, he's from a swing-state (Pennsylvania) and he'll shore up the evangelical side of the base like Palin did for McCain. Get ready for Obama/Biden 2012-16 because Romney/Santorum won't be able to beat the Obama Super PAC machine.

Then we get ready for Palin, Jindal, Christie, Jeb Bush 2016 ughh...

Brokered convention has been the plan for a long time, if you didn't apply to be a PC or delegate then what are you waiting for? This is the only way to win.

You seem to think America would survive the next 36 months without a major crisis whether they'll be monetary or military.

Yes because I have heard the doomsday prediction every election since the 80's. I do think things are getting worse of course, but we will still be here to fight on in 4 or 8 years when we have another shot at the nomination. In the meantime, we have House, Senate, state and local races to win, so we never stop making phone calls, knocking on doors and getting to know your neighbors.

Stop with the third party stuff. Some states have sore loser laws which prevent a candidate who lost in a primary to appear on a general election ballot. Ron isn't going to do that...

Those laws are put in place to perpetuate the 2 party system. Not to mention, most states still haven't gone.

Austrian school correctly predicted the housing crisis back in 08. Ron Paul was warning about the fed keeping interest rate too low back in 02.

And that kills Rand's chances for every winning anything.

Not at all. He could pull a Lieberman if the GOP tried to pull something and run 3rd party. Rand should look at running for Governor of Kentucky in 2015 anyways, then look at 2020 or 2024 for a Presidential run as he'll have a resume of a One-Term Senator only to become a one to two term Governor. 2016 is GOING TO BE PACKED GOP Race which is why Huckabee, Palin, Ryan, Christie, Daniels, Thune and Rubio have decided against running because they'll be able to really have a great shot at becoming GOP President and the "establishment" GOP will have the money to make sure someone like Rand Paul doesn't get elected. He'll have to kiss the GOP ring and do it frequently if he wants to have some pull in the GOP base.

His Dad is getting shoved out the door again, they were worried about his campaign for a bit and now it's dying down so they don't listen to him anymore. Romney/Paul etc? You don't think just liberal or conservative media didn't put that out without getting it from the Romney camp? Why do you think Santorum was calling out Paul about it? This is politics, the 2nd oldest profession in the book. This isn't Ron against former VP G.H.W. Bush who had an easy road in. This is a Clinton/Bush/Perot style battle that Ron can carry out.

Crap I forgot about them too and were talking about hurting Rand Paul's chances? He needs to run for Governor of Kentucky in 2015, he's not cracking that 2016 cluster-**** that'll be against who? Clinton or Cuomo?

'two of the above' and... 'all three'

clearly should have been poll options

I'm well aware of that. It's the reason that I still have a nice retirement savings, while others my age lost a lot in the crash. Doesn't change the fact that I think we will still be here. I have not given up all hope yet in this country and its people.

I'm calling it a night - sleep well all

Still a weak GOP field considering what's coming. Rand has the edge in any probable matchup with those boobs. Rubio is the only one who can stop Rand IMHO.

Who's strongest: a failing Obama, a nobody-trusts-him Romney, or a consistent/prophet-like Ron Paul?

I bet there will be other "surprise" candidates like Michele Bachmann was for 2012.

Paul Ryan
John Thune
Mitch Daniels
Marco Rubio
Sarah Palin
Mike Huckabee
Bobby Jindal
Geb Bush
Chris Christie
Eric Cantor

They're all sniffing around 2016, this is exactly why no one wants to be Mitt Romney's VP. He'll be stuck with Rick Santorum because at-least he's from a swing-state, he shores up the social-conservative side of the party and came in 2nd place. Romney/Santorum will lose to Obama/Biden no matter if Ron Paul runs 3rd Party or not.

Word. And you have the Libertarian Party along with Gary Johnson welcome him with open arms. Hell, Ron Paul is leading as the most drafted candidate over at AmericansElect.org though I don't think they would allow Ron Paul to be the nominee, something is fishy about that whole group and who they represent.
