You're all being too dramatic. This was just a show of force to start negotiations. Trump is now going to work with Russia and accept a peace proposal similar to the one the Russians previously proposed that would've led to Assad's peaceful removal from power.
Why does Assad need to be removed from power? How will removing Assad from power improve U.S. national security? Did the removal of Saddam from power improve U.S. national security? If you think yes, then what are you doing here? This forum is dedicated to a man (Ron Paul) who stood up against regime change of Saddam when most of the U.S. has gone insane. If you think no, then why should the removal of Assad turn out any better than the removal of Saddam? Seriously, if we can justify regime change every time some dictator does something bad then everyone who criticized Bush for taking out Saddam owes Bush an apology.
