To see the Amazon sales rank, click here and scroll down until you see Product Details, and then Amazon.com Sales Rank is listed under there.

Preorders will be counted in first week sales, because according to what I've been told, they count when the book ships to calculate the bestseller numbers.

Instead of raising money separately, I could build something into the site that encourages people to have a copy delivered to a library and then let them check it off once they ordered, assuming we could find a list of all the libraries in the US. That way we wouldn't have to deal with the hassle of PayPal accounts and non-profit status and that sort of thing.

Agreed. Raising money for this is a waste of effort. Better to just save your money, buy a second copy, and give it to your local library.

Ranking is usually on the Amazon web page for the book. You kinda gotta look for it though. :)

How many sales does it take to qualify a book as a best seller? Seems like I've read only about 100,000 or so.

Thanks. I have no doubt we can get this on the top 10 list. I honestly think that Paul being able to say "best selling author" at this point is worth at bunch of money in free publicity. It adds to his legitimacy in a way that the moneybombs can no longer do, since we have that record.

Different strokes for different folks! :) I'm just suggesting alternate forms to increase exposure of the message. I like real books also.

Here is a graph I found of what it takes to get a book high on the Amazon sales rankings list. It seems it isn't too tough to get a book high on the list for a single day, but sustaining the ranking could be difficult.

Before we all "blow our wad" and preorder this book, we should take some time and figure out how best to organize this. We dont want to have 10000000 preorders to get us tops on some list that doesnt matter for a week, when we could wait, be prudent, and get him on the best seller week the first week it is out.

Well, consider this:
1) Both orders and shipments counts towards the Amazon sales rank, from what I understand. (Correct me if I'm wrong.) That means that if we can hit the top 10 today, it will go at least that high when the book comes out.
2) Feb 5 (Super Tuesday) is fast approaching. Wouldn't it be wild if we could propel Dr. Paul to the Top 10, with a book that hasn't even come out yet, before Super Tuesday?

Just thinking outloud...
 
I finished his Foreign policy of Freedom book before Christmas...so I think this will be even better.

It would not take my email for the pledge at the site?????

Bump. Pledged...this is a book I really look forward to reading (and eventually hiding right next to 1984, if worse comes to worse ;)).
 
Affiliate proceeds?

Please put some transparency statement on the bookbomb site about where the affiliate link proceeds go.

I'm fine with it covering hosting costs but I'm a cynic at heart and would like to know what RP programs will be sponsored with the 5-10% affiliate profits the site will earn for each book directly bought through your link. My cynical side goes 'oh wow, someone figured out how to profit from the ron paul supporters in a super easy way'


This would be much like the RonPaul toolbar is transparent, or the blimp, or other RP sites.
