Breaking - ron paul will not seek re-election to congress

I will run!

seriously though, I like Medina but if youre going to be the only bastion of liberty in the Congress you need to be an intellectual heavyweight. Are we sure she is?

Deb is a close friend of mine and I would say that she is. And not only that is continuously studying every day.

Thank you, Ron Paul. For everything.

You changed my entire life, and I could not be anymore grateful for your years of service, as well as completely opening my eyes to the philosophy of liberty.

May you and your family be blessed.

Honestly, we all deep down inside know he deserves to be chilling on his farm with Carol. Instead he out there kicking tyranny's ass. And that's why we love him. And if we as his supporters can't pick up the torch then it was all for nothing anyway.

I would marry Ron paul but the right-wingers will not let me dammit:)

Hypothetically speaking, a Paul/Kucinich or Paul/Sanders unity ticket could result in nobody having enough electoral college votes. It would then go to the GOP-led House for a vote, which likely results in President Romney.

With that said, RP is all-in and dangling the "third party" possibility to scare the bejesus out of the GOP. He HAS to win the nomination. We owe it to him.

I didnt mean to insult Medina, I was just trying to get other takes on her. I voted for her in Texas, but I was just nervous that we will be left without Representation in the House.

Did we ever find out if she is from that district?

I completely echo these sentiments.

I am confident that no matter what happens in the 2012 election, we have not heard the last from the Good Doctor from Texas.

exactly, i hope he uses this as a way to kindly remind the failed gop!!

I agree that he deserves to ride into the sunset if he doesnt get the nomination, He has given his life to the cause of Liberty. I just wish he had an heir apparent.

Wow. Like many I'm not sure how I feel about it. Here's my dream scenario:

Tea party support coalesces around Ron, GOP jerry rigs the election and Romney takes it amongst public outrage, a legitimate third party is born and we put Ron in the white house.

It's a stretch, sure, but it's the only way I could ever see the duopoly coming to an end.

Hey, this doesn't mean retirement, even if he doesn't win POTUS. As Rockwell said, "I predict that he will have even more and even more lasting influence as he uses his moral authority for teaching freedom, peace, and Austrian economics outside of politics."

Oh, and I opposed it before, but now I'm 100% in favor of a 3rd party run should he not win the nomination.

Not sure what to think of this. Well, I'm hoping he will run as an independent or a Libertarian if he doesn't get the nomination then. Go out with a bang, show the establishment the middle finger one last time.

Just got a text from Debra that she cannot run for the 14th because due to redistricting she no longer lives in the 14th.

This might hurt Rand in the future though.

Possibly the end of an era, this saddens me. Run for senate, Ron !

He could have. He was tied for first in polls without even throwing his hat in the ring. But why start as a junior senator and give up a committee seat? I think he figures Rand is in the Senate, so it isn't as if there will be no voice there.
