BREAKING: Ron Paul OFFICIAL STATEMENT on DELEGATE STRATEGY

Apparently the term revolution doesn't compute with a lot of you "oh my God you can't do that it isn't in the RULES" peeps. Apparently, this year, there are NO FUCKING rules. Just ask the GOP. I expect BUG FUN in Tampa, and can't wait. Benton can release all the press releases he wants, everyone can second guess every word, but the bottom line is THIS IS OUT OF THEIR CONTROL at this point...

I admit my panties were in a wad initially, but who cares what Benton says. This is ours to take.

That is CORRECT. It always has been.

Doesnt matter. They won't even count delegates in the first round, they'll just tally how many are bound and that will be that.

If the campaign is saying they wont have the delegates then I assume they know something we dont. As for bashing Benton, y'all do know he is Ron Paul's son in law right? He is not going to be fired and it was RPs choice to have him in that position.

I don't know why you're saying this unless you just haven't been paying attention. It's already been posted here and reviewed numerous times that at the 2008 convention a Utah delegate that was supposedly bound to McCain voted for Romney and the RNC said that's perfectly fine. This has happened in many instances in the past and it will happen at an extraordinary rate this year. Hence, Ron Paul supporters bound to Romney can vote for Ron Paul. It really is that simple.

That is incorrect. The Utah delegate was bound to Romney because Romney won the Utah primary. Because Romney dropped out, the delegates were then unbound. All of them, with the exception of two voted for McCain, the others voted for Romney. They were permitted to vote for Romney even though Romney's name was not placed up for nomination, because they were unbound.

The long and short of it. In 2012, delegates who are bound to Romney are going to vote for Romney. Delegates who are bound to Paul are going to vote for Paul. Delegates who are bound to Santorum, Gingrich or Huntsman will (in all liklihood) become unbound and they are free to vote for whomever they choose including the candidate to whom they were originally bound.

The campaign knows this which is why Benton stated that in the press release.

exactly there is no law, and rnc rules state no state gop by law can override an rnc rule

well state laws have penalties. if they charge one with conspiracy to commit election fraud it goes from a misdemeanor to a felony and the penalty increases substantially.

that said, how can we face all of this with benton sabotaging us from within?

Are we having fun still? A fellow supporter on the island said something several months ago about the possibility of "divine intervention" resulting in Ron Paul's nomination. The people have to get to the shore of the Red Sea before it parts, though. What I'm saying is already said by others: we need to go for as many delegates as possible, do all we can, and, having done all, stand.
If the grassroots is truely the engine that drives this r3volution, it will have to have a lot of endurance. Every person engaged in the caucus, convention and delegate process is getting their baptism in fire now, seeing first hand the corruption and cheating. So we fine tune the message, seek out and use strategies that work and be prepared for something good to come of it all.

Let's take this fight to the gates of Mordor.
(Sorry for the mixed metaphors...and not figuring out how to embed a video.)

How many delegates will choose to forego spending the money to go to Tampa if they believe RP has no chance? That should be factored in to your expectations.
(just trying to be realistic here)

oo i hear ya, i am very pissed right now, not much ican do. I did call some major players in cogop grassroots. No kind words for benton i can assure you. People are livid! The folks i had called are already using their campaign contacts. I wish i had something good to tell you.

bull shit.. romney won because he is infested with goldman sachs. they own him and they own the minds of our neighbors that claim to be conservatives.

I know it is hard to believe. I don't disagree with you either as far as goldman sachs and owning the minds of our neighbors. The dollar is a failed currency, but guess what? It is the most popular currency and it's the currency the world is turning to in uncertain economic times. It's bullshit for sure, but it also stinks, and squishes between your toes when you step in it.

I would venture to guess that those who are only focused on the short term may decide that they do not want to attend. But those who see this as a long term project will still attend.

this is a huge issue with colorado. I was going to try to dj the fundraiser now not sure if there will be one. It will be up to the delegates elected. I have no say in any of this really. I just try to pay my bills and work work so we are not homeless.

Then that could affect the hoped for outcome

while the campaign repeatedly stabs everyone in the back, great motivation.

Fight the election fraud, both at the conventions and through the obvious, massive vote flipping. The facts are clear and we can win in 2012 by taking election fraud seriously.

Please, everybody at the conventions, bring a digital camera with spare batteries and plenty of storage media. Flim everthing you can and upload to YouTube. The thousands of us will analyze and catch these crooks in the act.

Get good microphones to listen to what they say on stage with the mike off.

There should be people in jail already.

Ron's fiscally responsible. Doesn't want to go into debt. What a novel idea. The groundwork has been laid. Now it's up to us. So as far as I am concerned you can shove your negativity straight up your ass.

I admit my panties were in a wad initially, but who cares what Benton says. This is ours to take. At the very least Ron is going to be nominated from the floor and it's going to be great to watch. That's history right there. And who knows what else can happen. The campaign doesn't, we can't. But I know the delegates who are RON PAUL delegates going to Tampa are going to do everything they can to shed light on this corrupt dirty process and hopefully get some changes made leading it into the right direction.

Mods, if I get banned for this one could it just be until Tampa, please?

Tx.

I know I failed to do the proper research as I didn't realize that many delegates remained though I knew TX and CA were big. I'm sensing apprehension in you. But I'm surprised by this. Wouldn't this crystal ball you speak of foresee the same prophecy one or even two months ago?

One month ago there was a slim chance that there could have been a brokered convention. The chances got increasingly slimmer as Romney continued to win. Once Santorum and Newt suspended it got even slimmer. Even as far back as two months ago, the chances may have been greater but were contingent upon the tide being changed and support shifting away from Romney and onto another candidate. It just didn't work out the way everyone had hoped.
