Lots of work but like this Front page story on the Huntington news site. The intial delegate count should convince many that Ron Paul is not a vote for someone that will loose. Advertising from the campaign and stops by Ron Paul to acknowledge this 'victory' will go a long way to firm that up. Hopefully this will start soon. I still have the opinion that if its doable the blimp needs to be in downtown Charleston on Feb5th to impress the uncommitteds.

It's certainly a good start. Pat Buchanan used his Alaska "win" to get New Hampshire votes. It only makes us look better going into Iowa and NH.

Compared to yesterday
Ron Paul
217 +12

Mitt Romney
212 +13

Fred Thompson
163 +2

Mike Huckabee
129 +5

Rudy Giuliani
90 +3

John McCain
25 +2

Duncan Hunter
7 +0

Alan Keyes
5 -1

Tom Tancredo

Uncommitted
630 +41

Total +77

So 77 new delegates were added? Most added to Uncommitted, so there is not a fixed number of amount of delegates per state?

I'm a little concerned that on the day of the convention the other candidates will pool their delegates behind just one neocon to deny Paul a victory.

Hopefully the fact that this would be on 02/05 will prevent that. Everyone should still be in on that date, and that would prevent such a backroom deal from being struck.

Very insightful observation. We need to preempt by reaching out to other campaigns that could be sympathetic: Huckabee, Tancredo, Hunter.

These are delegates that registered to run as delegates, there will be an election in January for the 'at large' delegates for each county. I.E Kanawha county now has over 150 delegates running for 51 slots.

Thanks, I must admit I am completely ignornat of the whole process, but I wanted to throw my observation out there.

how are they elected? by the people?

"at large" delegates are elected either during an online vote or at a county convention if they county committee decides to have a convention. Many won't because they don't have any money to put on a convention.

The legislature, state and county executive committee delegates get to go automatically.

The site has been updated again. Does anyone have a standing count? I'm now seeing the 3 that I sent last Friday.

Does anyone have the latest delegate count? Is there a link where it puts them all together?
