The RNC agrees with Ron Paul and anyone trying to be a delegate or precinct captain can affirm these core RNC ideals honestly:OK, guys, don't infer too much into this, but i went to a district GOP meeting in January where they discussed how to only allow "republicans" to participate. They said that they added a column for presidential preference to their original sign-in sheets (i bet you won't find it on the 2004 form) in order to identify supporters of "the other candidate" and recomended minimizing our influence.
There was no mention at this meeting, nor at my pooled-caucus location, that these "presidential preference" numbers would be tabulated in any way. There is no mention of a straw-poll in my PCO packet either nor was there any mention i could find on the Washington GOP website prior to the caucuses.
Hope this helps. Hope it doesn't cause more confusion, but if you understand what I've written then you will understand much of what the other Washington State folks have written.
They also discussed how to declare people ineligible to participate, but that's another subject.
RNC http://www.youtube.com/rnc :
"The future of our country, the direction that we go as people, whether we move ahead to meet the challenges of the future or slide back into the irresponsible policies of the past, will be determined by those who get involved." --Ronald Reagan
For more than 150 years the Republican Party has stood for lower taxes, limited government, and a strong national defense. To keep this tradition alive and well, the Republican National Committee needs you to get involved.
The RNC needs your energy, your excitement, and your idealism to push Republicans to victory in 2007, 2008, and beyond.
