Snohomish County (North of Seattle) was counting Presidential Preference from Sign In sheets, not who the actual delegates were for !!!

They are recounting the results as we speak. They still don't have about 20% packets with caucus results, beacuse we (PCO who held caucuses) were told to mail them in by today.

So the final numbers could be totally different!!!! Stay tuned !

So does this mean the other results WERE actual delegate counts and Paul came in 3rd (or no big 1st place lead)? I thought everyone else here was saying otherwise?

It looks like we are first in delegate count to county conventions, and that's what counts!
And we don't know at this point if other counties were counting the votes correctly.
What a mess!

It means what we've been saying for a bit here: nothing really. it somewhat illustrates the State GOP Chairman's desire to annoint McCain the winner. Apparently they don't even know yet who the delegates are.

it's about delegates, and we have a bunch.

So how is Huck asking for a recount? What would they recount? Why are straw poll results being represented as delegate counts and why are they being seemingly mismatched or misrepresented at every step of the way?

OK, guys, don't infer too much into this, but i went to a district GOP meeting in January where they discussed how to only allow "republicans" to participate. They said that they added a column for presidential preference to their original sign-in sheets (i bet you won't find it on the 2004 form) in order to identify supporters of "the other candidate" and recomended minimizing our influence.

There was no mention at this meeting, nor at my pooled-caucus location, that these "presidential preference" numbers would be tabulated in any way. There is no mention of a straw-poll in my PCO packet either nor was there any mention i could find on the Washington GOP website prior to the caucuses.

Hope this helps. Hope it doesn't cause more confusion, but if you understand what I've written then you will understand much of what the other Washington State folks have written.

They also discussed how to declare people ineligible to participate, but that's another subject.

48th. I'm going to start a topic on the 48th. Our district convention is March 1st. it may be the first in Washington. it's Redmond/Bellevue so i'd classify it as 'old school'

you should put your location in your "about" profile thing so i'd know where you're at.

How do we get the Washington GOP Chairman kicked out?

Make a motion for a vote of "no confidence" at your county convention. you should read what some of the folks in Alaska are doing at their local GOP conventions - http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?t=117171

that's one of the things i think we should be contemplating as we move toward these conventions. if we have the muscle, lets use it for good.

Amazing, Just amazing.

4 counties not counted correctly! State after state with problems.

WA I hope they get this sorted out within my lifetime. You all did a great job, now if we can just get them to admit that.

Sarge -

It isn't amazing - it is how elections have been 'run' for 150 years.

never forget that politics is a business - patronage jobs, plush contracts, and more acrue to the winners.

if Dr. Paul won, it would upset everything - all those poltical hacks would have to go and get jobs in the private sector.

I agree.

I was saying it tongue in cheek.

It was that way when I lived in Illinois as a youngster. They used to talk about Chicago and how crooked things were during elections.

I'm PCO of Olney precinct, 2nd District east near Gold Bar. I've reported our delegates to State. We had 3 delegates designated, two were for Mike Huckabee, One for Dr. Ron Paul. I am also the one voted in for Dr. Paul. We had 8 show up for this precinct. There must have been at least ten precincts scheduled at the meeting.
