Breaking: Fox Business invites 7 Republicans to debate; Paul and Fiorina relegated

Or is it delusional to think Rand would take a risk like this and do something edgy? And isn't that lack of resolve to break with the establishment the reason he's where he is in the polls? Rand played nice with a very naughty MSM, and look where it's got him.

This 10x and would add the GOP establishment as well.

There is one thing I still wonder about and that is if the business VAT part of his tax plan was his idea or to appease some group in particular. If you look at his demise in the polls it is also around the same time he released his tax plan.

Rand would do it, Bernie won't.

If Rand does well in Iowa without being in the debate, it could really make people take a look into his platform. Coming in the top three without being in the main debate, could have a greater impact than if he were in 7th position on the stage.

That's all on the premise he does well in Iowa and that is support does not waver.

Fox Business Facebook page is filling up very quickly with people supporting Rand:

Rand Paul on being placed in the Fox Business 6p ET ‪#‎GOPDebate‬: "It's a rotten thing to do to try to designate which candidates have a chance and don't. And so we will not participate in anything that's not first tier."

Everything I've read so far is supportive of Rand and people calling out Fox News.

Deluded to think Bernie would.

If you are relegated to a second tier debate, you've been defeated in a battle of the war.

"Beating expectation" can give a campaign a huge boost. Clinton was considered all done with until he managed to beat expectation in a couple primaries and suddenly surged up. He was in single digits going into New Hampshire. He lost the vote but by doing better than expected he got huge momentum. http://www.wmur.com/politics/the-ex...lost-by-winning-others-won-by-losing/37320904 Clinton called himself "the Comeback Kid". Rand could get five percent and still declare "Victory". Especially in the face of the debate snub.

“Bring it 20 years later,” Grandmaison said. “I decided that Clinton ought to do the same thing. I checked with the Boston TV stations and learned that they were going to go live at 8 p.m.

“My recommendation to the campaign -- I contacted them and harassed them with my suggestion – was that Clinton come down and claim the same thing at five minutes past eight, so the stations would go live and he would get the lead (story) at that point in time.”

Grandmaison recalled that longtime operative Paul Begala, “a phenomenal political strategist, is the one who coined the phrase, ‘the Comeback Kid.’ And the rest is history.”

The final result, for the record, showed Tsongas beat Clinton, 33 percent to 25 percent.

While Clinton was declaring victory on the Democratic side on Feb. 18, 1992, drama was also playing out on the Republican side, and Carney was in the middle of it.

He remembered it as the “terrible night.” President George H.W. Bush “lost” the New Hampshire primary by beating insurgent Patrick J. Buchanan. But Bush did not win by a large enough margin to instill public confidence in a sitting president.

The final tally showed Bush with 53 percent and Buchanan at 37 percent. But more damaging were the exit polls, some of which showed Bush barely leading Buchanan and others showing Buchanan slightly ahead.

“It looked close during the day and the reporters started to say that it was a great defeat for the president, when in actuality on election day, when the votes were counted, Bush had won.”

But the damage had been done.

“It was like, a big story, a big upset,” Carney said. “The national reporters were all writing their stories and what a setback this was for Bush.”Although Bush finished 16 percentage points ahead of Buchanan, “There’s no question that we got our ass handed to us,” Carney said. “But we didn’t lose. Buchanan didn’t beat us. But that was how the story was spun.

There is still the Jan 28 debate before the Iowa caucus. The RNC added Thursday's debate to see how it would affect Trump's polling with the appearance of a narrowing field. SPOILER: it won't, if Jeb is there too.

No surprise they found a way to invite Bush. I won't be watching. And Cruz and Rubio are not even eligible for the position.

Bush must have called the Casa de Saud. Hello? Its Jeb. You know the brother of that guy that got your kin out quick on 9-11? Yes I still am running for President. What?, The President of the UNITED STATES! I need a little favor...

What are you talking about? He has challenged Bernie Sanders to a debate numerous times in numerous interviews and to numerous publications. Would you like him to challenge Bernie again for the 20th time to make you feel better?

Rand needs to hold rally outside of the debate! I understand he's not the type of person to project passion but it's time to take off the gloves. The RNC is NOT freedoms friend! The media is NOT freedoms friend! Fuck them and the horse they rode in on. I've been to the point where I've been supporting Rand from the back seat. If he wants people like me to get into the drivers seat he needs to show me something. I understand that unique circumstances of this election have happened that are out of our control. None the less liberty needs a champion. Right now he had a chance to funnel this frustration to his advantage.

Every time I see Rand on any news show I always get the feeling they are mocking him. They are mocking us too. They are saying we are irrelevant that really pisses me off so much. But it is to be expected. If nothing else we should bug the crap out of Fox News. We can keep analyzing what went wrong Rand may have taken a wrong turn somewhere but he still is a good candidate and we should all vote for him in the primaries and show our support.
