No, do not get all "remember X, Y or Z" about him, jerks.

On some tapes released by Taylor Branch of him recording Bill Clinton, this soldifies Boris Yeltsin to me as a hero.

He [Clinton] also relayed how Boris Yeltsin's late-night drinking during a visit to Washington in 1995 nearly created an international incident. The Russian president was staying at Blair House, the government guest quarters. Late at night, Clinton told Branch, Secret Service agents found Yeltsin clad only in his underwear, standing alone on Pennsylvania Avenue and trying to hail a cab. He wanted a pizza, he told them, his words slurring.
The next night, Yeltsin eluded security forces again when he climbed down back stairs to the Blair House basement. A building guard took Yeltsin for a drunken intruder until Russian and U.S. agents arrived on the scene and rescued him.

The President of Russia, standing in his underwear drunk as a skunk in the wee hours of the morning on Pennsylvania Avenue, craving a pizza.

God Bless America.

This reminds of me of a Family Guy spoof. Peter: "Remember that time I was a taxi driver and I picked up Boris Yeltin for pizza...."

Dude, I've done all that shit....................except the President of Russia thing.

its nice to have something in common with a Russian President..

Well it more shows how bad Russians fail as opposed to how great we are :P.

Some stories I herd from my parents on how his advisors would get him piss drunk and then ask him to sign papers that transferred federal funds to their pet companies.

Free market pizza was the best option at the time. They probably don't even deliver in Russia.

Sure he can be a hero to the Americans (cheap natural resources, Russian women...), but he was a despicable swine in regard to his own country. Him dancing in that video was happening during the time of 1000% inflation and no food on the shelves.

ah see, now you made the thread serious.

Drink a beer!

Like Boris, I could use a drink after all the sillyness of the news today.

Admire him? Hell, apparently I've practically *been* him.

We should remember that Boris was a typical corrupt politician because during the privatization of Russian industries, he practically handed them over to his buddies at a fraction of their actual value.
