Border Patrol Agent Killed

I do.

My deepest sympathy to his wife and two children. And thank you for your husbands service to protect our border.

My son worked that station around three years ago before transferring to AZ. For all I know, he could have been the agent that replaced our son.

no one has anything to say about this....

Nothing to analyze, nothing to add. Doubt the family will be searching for sympathy here. Unfortunate event, but nothing too uncommon, perhaps less the circumstances.

I have quite a bit to say in regard to the issues of illegal immigration, law enforcement in general and the Border Patrol in particular. That being said, I don't feel comfortable using the subject of someone's violent death to springboard the conversation. My sympathies, too, to the family of the Border Patrol agent.

My only other personal note would be to add that I was driving through southwest Texas yesterday and noticed a BP agent lowering the flag to half mast at a local station. My wife and I were trying to figure out what had happened to cause the flag to be lowered, but we didn't hear about the shooting until this morning.

Bman's assumption is pretty sound. In all likelihood this is another casualty in the war on drugs.

There's nothing "sound" about stating an unfounded opinion.

Solid evidence and verifiable documentation are what makes a statement "sound".

Thus far, Bman and yourself have provided nothing that would help prove your assumption.

.

They are Federal Agents under the Department of Homeland Security. They are armed.

I think all know the penalty for killing a Federal Agent.

The Border Patrol Agents funeral is tomorrow.

Here is a little more on the funeral tomorrow from an email.

Many of our civilian border watch friends knew Robert. It was common to see him on the front lines at the Campo area border. He always had a smile and a big "thank you" when he greeted Minutemen and border volunteers in the field. He will be deeply missed by his friends, fellow agents, and a grateful public.

Thank you for that information.

Our son is leaving early in the am. for CA. He was asked to attend for his sector, as he worked at that sector before his transfer here. He knows everyone there.

He could not leave tonight, as he is a dog handler and could not leave his dog alone for that long. I would go over to his house and and baby sit that cupcake but, they are considered a government employee so, I am not allowed to do that.

What a nice looking family. Very sad for his wife and children.
