Chechnyans actually.. but they're still spinning this as jihad/muslim/al-quesadilla ..saying Chechnyans are fighting for al-queso in Syria and such.. I don't think I've ever heard that before..

When I went to bed a few hours ago they were saying the suspects where 2 other names and that one of them was that missing student. Now they say they're from Chechnya. wtf?

SHATTERING THE AL QAEDA-CHECHEN MYTH: PART I
Publication: North Caucasus Analysis Volume: 4 Issue: 35

As the war on terrorism unfolded, uninformed American television audiences were confidently told that Chechens were involved in every manner of al Qaeda global mischief and mayhem, from acting as "white-skinned European-looking Al Qaeda infiltrator-hijackers" (a remarkable achievement for a swarthy, dark-haired Caucasian mountain nation known to the Russians by their racist epithet as cheorny--"n-words"), to providing al Qaeda with ricin chemical laboratories in the rugged mountains of Chechnya and neighboring Georgia (ricin is of course one of the most unstable biological weapons and requires advanced technology and facilities to manufacture). Since the American public discovered the various ethnic groups of Eurasia in the aftermath of 9/11 a veritable Chechen rumor industry has emerged. This would be laughable were it not for the fact that the Chechens, a nation undergoing horrible crimes against humanity at the hands of the brutal Russian Federation forces, are being misconstrued as a nation of ubiquitous al Qaeda ethno-terrorists.

Interesting reading.. please read the link, and I'll try to find Part 2..

this further development is not at all surprising given that the U.S.S.R politically fragmented after the fall of the Wall!!!

not all people in the former "worker's paradise" like the rule of all from Moscow, hence the many separatist movements.

the uncle of the two young men is in Maryland and asking for him to turn himself in, and to think of his family and people.

I admit I have not seen a dragnet like this nor the setting up of blockades and roadblocks in Massachusetts in my lifetime.

this all is like something J. EDGAR HOOVER would have done over several Southern or Midwestern counties in his lifetime

when going after somebody like John Dillinger or Bonnie + Clyde. Were they acting alone or were they internet connected?

From what I'm seeing on tv, it looks more like martial law than a dragnet, but yeah, J Edgar Hoover would have been jealous.

this is crazyquilt mix of a thorough depression era dragnet with roadblocks and FEMA in overdrive in full

Coffee hasn't helped. Chechnya? Really? Totally out of left field.
Not entirely. Chechens have a bad reputation in East Europe. Importing a few here isn't that improbable if you believe all the other lies the government tells.
