Bolton Takes Shot at Rand Paul for Being Soft on Snowden

John Bolton made clear his disapproval of Sen. Rand Paul and the Kentucky Republican's opinions of former National Security Agency contractor Edward Snowden, whom Bolton labeled a modern-day traitor during the Republican Jewish Coalition leadership meeting on Saturday.

In his speech before the influential gathering of GOP voters and donors in Las Vegas, Bolton, the former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, called Snowden a "21st century equivalent of Benedict Arnold," and added that "anyone who thinks Edward Snowden is a hero in unfit to serve."

Bolton's comment was a shot at Paul, whose opinions of Snowden's actions differed from many Republicans. While many in the GOP were quick to call Snowden's leak of classified documents an act of treason, Paul referred to it as a form of "civil disobedience."

Looks like the haters are really on the offensive this week...Bolton and Cheney calling out Rand, the WWII attacks, the allegations about tax evasion, the guys at the Vegas event threatening to take Rand down, etc.

It 's a little amusing to see Rand Paul being treated like the big elephant in the room with the old guard. I sense a lot of fear. Rand wouldn't even be on the radar if he wasn't making the neocons so scared.

Well it all stems from the vegas event. All those folks were there at the same place. It really does seem like the entire event centered around Randal and how to combat his growing popularity.

God save us from the GOP Dead-Enders and Israel Firsters.

how about the balls on this douche:
“Paul hasn’t — and probably will never — win the trust of the pro-Israel community,” says Noah Pollak, executive director of the conservative Emergency Committee for Israel, which ran ads against the elder Paul. “But his foreign policy problems run far deeper. His mustering of fake outrage over issues like Tomahawk-missile cuts and the persecution of Middle East Christians are a shiny-object strategy intended to contradict the correct impression that, at his core, he is more or less an isolationist.”

I would love to hear Bolton's opinion on the possible release of Jonathon Pollard, the traitor who sold government secrets to a foreign country (Israel), earning over half a million dollars before he got caught.

Pollard was greedy as well as disloyal to his own country.
While Snowden sacrificed a comfortable life to warn his countrymen of their government's illegal behavior - without reward.

Truth is Treason...

Hit back on this Rand.

Snowden exposed betrayal of America's defenses by the NSA. The NSA is letting Russian and Chinese spies into the heart of Americas defense network and Bolton thinks this is a good idea.

Rand, get on tv and ask this:

Why does Bolton think that Americas strategic secrets shouldn't be properly encrypted and protected?

You can tell they're fretting over the idea of Rand Paul winning.

They're right to fret. Our guy is going to win this thing. The old guard is dying, and a more-inclusive Republican party built on the tenants of free-trade, privacy, sensible foreign policy and less government bullying is about to be ushered in! Cronyism and neoconservative are DOA!

At the same time, purist libertarians want pardon or nothing, despite Rand being hit from all sides for taking a position where even conservatives can get behind.

Its a tough battle until we re-frame it.

Snowden is not just defending Privacy, Snowden is defending the security of America's Nuclear Arsenal. The NSA is trying to make it possible to disrupt America's strategic defense through criminal malpractice.

Stop talking about pardoning Snowden. That's not the conversation.

The conversation is about prosecution of NSA administrators and programmers for undermining the US military.

We have to change the conversation. Its not a trade of privacy vs defending America. Defending America creates privacy. The atempts to breach privacy had to breach America's defenses first.

Bolton just has his panties in a wad because he hasn't been able to bomb anyone lately.

these ppl's livelihood are at stake duh, or worse, their entire life's worth of reputation

If Bolton is looking for traitors, they aren't hard to find.

You don't have to go to Russia to find them: just look around DC, starting with the mirror in your bathroom, Bolty.
