Boehner: Cruz is 'Lucifer in the flesh'

That is your proof that he plans to cut the size of government and reign in spending? Really?

Trump has a lifetime of being frugal, and earning money with his own sweat through leadership and working.

There is no indication Trump would change who he is by being in politics, nor does his policy statements say anything about increasing the welfare state. Considering the fact that 99% of the political weasels have never earned an honest dime in their life apart from the public trough, Trump is better than the vast majority of them from a real perspective.

Whatever disagreements you may or may not have about Trump over particular policies, he is unassailable here.

Donald Trump Just Released His Personal Finances—and, Oh Boy...
Casinos made him rich, but mattresses keep him rich.

Last week Trump announced he had filed the details of his personal finances, as all presidential candidates must, and was worth "in excess of TEN BILLION DOLLARS" (his emphasis). On Wednesday, his financial disclosure form was released by the Federal Election Commission, and it backs up his bluster. It also tells the complicated—and entertaining—story of Trump's financial life.

Please note, mother jones is a left leaning magazine, so should please some of the particular posters on this thread.

Oh good lord.

Boehner hating on Cruz is about as valuable as Graham hating on Trump. Every friggin' one of them is a weasel trying to grow the size of government and shrink liberty.

Mar-a-Lago = the epitome of frugality.
Using government power to grow his own wealth = leadership and work.

Go shill somewhere else.

You sure are deluding yourself.

Trump literally considers "cash flow" and his "revenue" as part of his net worth. I'm not sure how familiar you are with finances but income usually coincides with expenses and debt.

Trump has also literally said that his net worth depends on how he feels on a given day.

You can cherry pick an article all you want but here are a few more.

Donald Trump's wealth is entirely based on his brand. Not on a product or even a service.

You may wonder why a blustering man with a giant ego and an image based entirely on how rich he is would run for President.

It all goes back to his brand. Trump isn't really worth much at all. Trump has gotten billions in free air time and is more a household name than he ever could have achieved otherwise.

When this is all said and done Trump will resume his normal activities but now instead of being worth $10 B he'll be claiming he's worth $50 B. One can only hope it backfires on him as he will be responsible for a disastrous general election. Maybe we'll see him declaring a couple more bankruptcies in the near future.

Can you show me Trump's plan to cut spending or deal with the welfare state? Again you are making things up in your head that Trump himself has never said. Trump said healthcare is one of the main functions of the government. And he's the guy you think will actually change things. He's your blank page. He's whatever you want him to be.

Did you not see what he said about social security? "NO CHANGES. If we make America great again, we won't need to change anything."

The ten billion are from government documents with criminal penalties for lying on. The government can easily cross reference those figures with his income tax statements which are continuously monitored. If you think Trump has lied and money is just some illusion that grows on trees - you ought to contact the government with your proof

Edit: Here's the filing - all 92 pages of it. Go to it.

Relationship was more than just in Congress. Bizarrely, Ted Cruz just lied about this on television.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...-once-john-boehners-lawyer-heres-their-story/

We are re-upping this post from early 2014 in light of Boehner labeling Cruz "Lucifer in the flesh" and saying, "I've never worked with a more miserable son of a bitch in my life." Here's where their work together began, two decades ago.

For what it's worth, Cruz downplayed their relationship Thursday in his comments responding to Boehner. "I've met John Boehner two or three times in my life," he assured.

It's doubtful that House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) will be taking political advice from Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) in the near future. But legal advice? Well, it's happened before. "Ted Cruz used to be my attorney a long time ago. A good guy. I don't always agree with him, but he's a good guy," Boehner told Jay Leno Thursday on NBC's "The Tonight Show."

The year was 1998. Shania Twain and Savage Garden were all the rage. Boehner was House Republican Conference chairman. He had decided to sue Rep. Jim McDermott (D-Wash.) for allegedly violating wiretapping laws.

Enter Cruz, then a rising legal star who had clerked for a Supreme Court justice. He was Boehner's lawyer in the case. When Boehner used the case to help his campaign raise money, Cruz defended him publicly, emerging in the media years before he would return as a conservative hero. But don't count on the old gang getting back together for a reunion. During the recent government shutdown, Cruz was spurring rank-and-file conservatives to take a hard-line stand against Obamacare. It made Boehner's job as speaker more difficult.

Boehner the "texting Buddy" of Trump that was basically run out of the House by Cruz's influence. What else would you expect him to say?

thats really worth about 2 or 3 billion. i guess trump rounded up

There's nothing that has been posted that indicates his debt is anywhere over 250 million at max. It would be impossible to get from 10 billion to 2 or 3 billion. If you want to know where Trump gets his wealth, the 95 page FEC document and other releases are pretty clear.

With the revelations about Speaker Hastert, now we know why Boehner cries so often...

Satanists to Boehner: Please Don't Associate Us With Ted Cruz
When John Boehner called Ted Cruz “Lucifer in the flesh” last night, he probably wasn’t trying to be rude, just honest. Unfortunately, the former Speaker of the House failed to consider how Lucifer might feel.

On Thursday, blogger Hemant Mehta asked The Satanic Temple what they thought about Boehner’s comparison. According to Raw Story, the Dark Lord’s representatives were mad as hell.

“Cruz’s failures of reason, compassion, decency, and humanity are products of his Christian pandering, if not an actual Christian faith,” Temple spokesperson Lucien Greaves told Patheos in a statement. “It grows tedious when pedophile priests and loathsome politicians are conveniently dismissed as Satanic, even as they spew biblical verse and prostrate themselves before the cross, recruiting the Christian faithful. Satanists will have nothing to do with any of them.”

Of course, it’s not exactly surprising that Satanists don’t want to be associated with Ted Cruz. Much more surprising is that other people apparently do.
