The Barr campaign released a statement after learning that a Stormfronter called for supporting Bob Barr for President:

The Barr campaign is not going to be a vehicle for every fringe and hate group to promote itself. We do not want and will not accept the support of haters. Anyone with love in their heart for our country and for every resident of our country regardless of race, religion, nationality or sexual orientation is welcome with open arms.

Tell the haters I said don't let the door hit you on the backside on your way out!

Enjoy.

LOL. Now that is funny. I hope this is the position of the Ron Paul Revolution as well. I might even wish the door does strike the backsides of these haters. That would be absolutely hilarious. LOL.

Hmmm...

" Our support of an individual's right to make choices in life does not mean that we necessarily approve or disapprove of those choices.

We condemn bigotry as irrational and repugnant. Government should not deny or abridge any individual's rights based on sex, wealth, race, color, creed, age, national origin, personal habits, political preference or sexual orientation. Parents, or other guardians, have the right to raise their children according to their own standards and beliefs."

Ron said he didn't support their views but never outright said do not support me. Is Barr correct in this judgement?

Where did this come from? Why would Barr act like this would turn into something big??? Nipping it in the bud?

Bush was endorsed by Stormfront.

Where does Barr get off?

Does he want people who hate neoconservatives donating money to him or not?

He is an idiot.

Hating neoconservatives is quite different from hating black people or gays. I'm just saying. I seem to recall Ron Paul saying he doesn't want white supremacist support. I think this is the brand of hater Barr is talking about. Rather than rejecting haters of interventionist warfare.

I'm so freaking torn about Barr. He's a horrible horrible candidate, but his people at least know how to run a campaign.

Bob Barr doesn't want anyone who hates based on (1), race, (2), religion, (3), nationality, (4) sexual orientation. What part of this does anyone have a problem with?

And last I checked, you aren't a neocon merely because you don't hate because of these reasons.

God forbid a group starts supporting him who hate people just because they're fat, given that over 50% of Americans (a figure I pulled out of my ass from various media reports over the years) are obese.

You don't want to go offending the obese. They're a big voting block! (Sheesh).

Would he denounce them, too? Perhaps make an ammendment to his list up there to include (5) physical appearance

Barr is blowing smoke.

Pete

He'll be on the Colbert Report Wednesday night and Glenn Beck Thursday evening. His campaign funds haven't topped 200,000 yet. Yeah, I'd say they know what they're doing.

I have to agree with this. People keep running around here saying that I should vote for Barr because he won't win, so I don't have to worry about his crappy voting record. If he isn't going to win, I'm wondering why he pandering so much. Anyone who wouldn't support Barr because some racists endorsed him or gave money to him, wouldn't vote for him anyway.

Re: "sexual orientation," while hating is not in order, it's regrettable that Barr adopted this PC code for "homosexuality is genetic in nature." That's disputable, and most likely false. Sinful sexual behavior does not warrant calling those electing to do so a 'group' that should be added as a protected civil rights category. A Libertarian candidate shouldn't even be talking about group discrimination issues (be they real groups or false groups), he should be talking about individual liberty.

Of course the idiot stormfronters and white supremacists will think he alienated about "45% of his base." lmao.

Just another politically correct platitude from a soulless politician.

Also, if you think that Ron Paul's racialist support had anything to do with his failures in the primaries then you are deeply deluded.

Looks like he is taking steps to avoid being ronpauled. Good for him.

Bingo! By responding forcefully now, to an endorsement message, he avoids the situation Ron Paul had to deal with (whether or not to return a donation). Barr has already made it clear, in no uncertain terms, that he rejects the support of haters. If they now go ahead and donate to him anyway, it's their own damn fault for not paying attention.

Strategically a good move, however PC, to head off marginalization. It's not beyond our opposition to have set up that Stormfront guy to ever-so-loudly donate to Barr in the first place. Was Bushco behind this? Some of these 'Stormfront' folks may in fact be government agents, assigned to try to disgrace certain candidates by associating with them. Just as it appears in at least one of the cases when it happened to Paul, or when Paul 'supporter' Tucker Carlson brought prostitutes to a Paul appearance to get Paul caught in a compromising photo-op. The technique is despicable, but it works.

Is the campaign paying the staff to monitor every little fringe site on the internet so they can repudiate any troll or person with differing beliefs at the drop of a dime? Maybe Bob Barr can create the department of political correctness after he wins.

??? Did GHemminger write this??????
