lol. How's he *our* candidate? By that logic, McCain could be your candidate in 2012 and have way more Libertarian credentials than Barr. I'm not knocking doors for that, nor would I run for local office in that situation. I'm just not a party over principle type of person.

I mean, I'll vote for one of the two, but I don't know which as of yet.

But beyond that, in the final analysis, does it really matter WHICH one we vote for? Even if EVERY third party voter voted for the same choice, it's not going to change the outcome in November. The key in THIS cycle, is simply to make as many people vote third party as possible, no matter WHO that third party is.

If (dreaming BIG here folks) we had 25% of the electorate to vote third party...and by that I mean all the third parties combined...we might well strike fear into the hearts of the establishment. More than that we cannot realistically hope to expect in November 2008.

now, moving forward, a HUGE third party showing will "grease the way" for the important reforms we need to make within the GOP in 2009, 2010, and 2011 in order to make 2012 a brilliant year for us int he race to the Oval Office. Byt being able to tell the GOP, "Hey look, 25% of the electorate voted third party in 2008. We need to do something or we will go extinct...and guess what, we know exactly what we need to do." We will thereby create the sort of tension within the GOP that helps permit the kinds of changes we will ne making going forward.

So the argument over WHICH third party to vote for is really stupid. Sure we can debate the merits of one over the other, but in the end, even the establishment folks KNOW that a vote for Barr OR Baldwin is a vote lost to Ron Paul.

So vote for one, or vote for the other. Specifically which one makes no real difference, honestly. Neither one will be elected President in 2008 no matter what happens. However, a huge turnout for Barr/Baldwin COMBINED will give us a whole lot of political capitol moving forward in our efforts to take back the GOP.

How is that relevant to Dr. Baldwin's presidency (I'm sorry; I know I'm hijacking this thread right now, but it's just for some clarification.)? Obviously, he will be bound to the Constitution, and I don't think the elimination of pornography is at the top of his list of things to get rid of as President.
