US technology companies and advertisers have been seeking access to the data generated by sensors in so-called "connected cars", a senior figure at German car manufacturer BMW has said.

Ian Robertson, BMW head of sales and marketing, said BMW had so far resisted requests to share connected car data with those businesses, according to a report by the Financial Times.

"Connected cars" is a general term used to refer to vehicles that allow information to be transmitted and received, often involving use of SIM cards and public communication networks, to enable a range of services in respect of the vehicle and its users. Examples include an automatic lock/unlock feature, car operating status monitoring and access to "infotainment" services.

Data such as that which outlines how long a car engine has been running, matched with location data, could allow advertisers to promote outlets such as restaurants that are near to the cars and their occupants, according to one example of potential data use cited by Robertson.

Marketing is not an attempt to fill the needs of people and turn over a profit, Marketing is about creating a 'want' for a product where none exists to be sold to a population that neither benefit from what they are selling, nor want what they are selling, and can not afford what they are selling at all.

So when does "Advertisers" (or AdMen as the article put it) turn into Govt and "asked" become demanded? When does this information get used against you to make your behavior compulsory? Did you visit a friend? You must have been buying DRUGS from his neighbor. Arrested. Did you visit a Doctor and not report it? You must be sick, jack up your ObamaCare premiums for your Dishonesty. Did you go to Fast Food? You'll see even more Ads for Fast Food, but again ObamaCare will jack your premiums, oh and your Children will be confiscated because you are not feeding them as per Govt instructions. Were you stuck in traffic? All the more reason for your Employer to terminate you.

Locational Data provides Information that can be interpreted Subjectively, just as Right and Wrong can be interpreted Subjectively, and will ALWAYS be used against you.

You have the Right to Remain Silent. Anything you say, can and will be used AGAINST you in a Court of Law. So what happens when you dont even have the Right to know about your Trial? Will someone benefit by using your information against you? Bet your ass that someone will, and because Profits are always more important than Human Rights, when will your Rights be brushed aside for Corporate Profits. And all will be achieved under the guise of "more effective Advertising" and "Nothing to Fear" memes.
