Blue Republicans for Ron Paul!

Ron Paul is getting tons of good posts on his stance, (and bill with Barney Franks), against Prohibition on Marijuana. So many say become a " blue republican " ?? I am an independant and never voted in primaries so how would a person like myself and probably millions other that like Ron Paul but dont like the Republican party so much do this?
Give me good info as i am an avid poster and would share this knowledge. thank you.

Hi Dave! Did you know that President Paul would pardon all non-violent drug offenders? How cool is that?!

What State are you in? That would be a good place to start figuring out how to get you in a position to vote in the primaries for Ron.

Ohio, very pivotal state from all the elections i have watched.
edited: I have read so many posts here and the huffington and they all leave out one simple thing.. " how to make myself this republican for a year" All these mesages are selling a product but not one is trying to close the deal? I will wait as this post is being tracked, i assume i just need to go to election office in my county and change affiliation? I have never voted in primaries as im a proud independant.

Here's registration information for Ohio: http://www.sos.state.oh.us/SOS/elections/voterInformation/regToVote.aspx

It's considered a "Semi-Open Primary" state, but it may as well be completely Open. You do not have to declare affiliation with a party when you register. Once you are registered, on the day of the Primary, you go to the polling place. A flyer will be sent to you prior to the election telling you where to go - hang on to that and bring it with you just in case they tell you you're in the wrong place or something crazy like that.

Once at the polling place on the day of the Primary, they will ask you which ticket you want, Republican or Democrat. Just ask for a Republican ticket and make your mark.

Officially, asking for the Republican ticket "affiliates" you with that party, but the same process can be done the following year when you ask for a Democrat ticket which would affiliate you back with them - it's very loose. I've read you: "Must vote in primary of same party as the voter participated in last primary election. Loosely enforced." but I've never seen this come up. If you are challenged just say "I'd like to switch today." there may be a form involved, fill it out, and do the same thing next time you vote if you want to switch back.. But I've never seen anyone challenged.

Nice. Another party to further obscure the freedom loving american. You know, when I was growing up, it was right or wrong. Not democrat or republican.
Dont get me wrong. I just think forming another party, task force, committee or what ever just furthers us from being the constitution governed republic we were meant to be. Major media has been using the party system will to ignore the citizens will.

This article is what the term refers to, it's not another party, it's a just term that Independents and Democrats can call themselves if they want to vote in the Republican Primary for Ron Paul - for people disgusted with the term "Republican" (please don't label me one of these either!) - so we don't have to feel like we're "becoming one of them" to vote in the primary. In this election, with Obama running unopposed, it's a great time to reach out to Dems and Inds who are disillusioned and did not get the Hope and Change they were promised - this article and ability to identify with others who feel the same way you do, is a great tool for reaching those folks.

you play with pigs, you get muddy, it is that simple. Most folks never get past the sound bites and dont care nor will read how diferent Ron Paul is. All they see is another Republican out to take everything from them and thier's to hand over to super rich and oil.. It is with reserve that i am even here because of that same reasoning. Will RP be able to keep back those demanding unfair treatment? If i was poor and on welfare then won the super lottery, would i expect to still get food stamps? Why does oil get subsidies after making bigger profits than ever seen on this planet? So many lies and selling out going on that a knight in shinning armor might be accepted more now than ever. Many of us beleived we had that in Obama! He was against Iraq, he was against using funds to attack states that legalized medical marijuana.. Now he attacks Libya and attacking states that legalized medical mj.. Is he doing this just to prove he is willing to sell out the middle class just to get Republicans to allow him to raise taxes?

Its like we are rape victims trying to pick which rapest to take the next turn.. will a nice policeman ever show up and rescue us?

Thanks. I did think of you when I saw that article in Huffpo. We had another Dem join here yesterday who said he had 5 friends who supported Obama in 2008 supporting Ron now, as well.
