It will be interesting to see if/how the media covers this; makes it pretty easy to argue that his gun control policies are rooted in racism...

His privileged i dont think the media would even noticed it. Unless it was said by a white person and conservative they wont touch it.

They played the Bloomberg audio on Fox Business this morning.

The irony here is that in essence, this is what Buttigieg said about his tenure as Mayor. The crime was in the black neighborhood, thus more black arrests. They pretended he didn’t even say it.

Not to defend Buttigieg, but that was a set-up question by an angry black woman interrogator. It was just a way to attack him.

He answered the questions. He said that he told the police chief to not prosecute petty drug crimes, especially marijuana. When pressed on why there were more black people arrested during his tenure, he said that they did prosecute drug crimes when there was violence involved, and they had a problem with violence, shootings, murder, etc.

So basically he said arrests were based on violent crime which was occurring in the black neighborhoods, but no one wanted to acknowledge that, so they said he didn’t answer.

If a person doesn't actually watch a debate, they can’t identify the heavy media spin afterwards.

I have a really hard time believing Bloomberg made his billions entirely on merit. Guy sounds like a real sleaze ball.

You don't make billions based on merit. Millions definitely, but not billions. Too bad most people do not know the difference.

Are Bloomberg and Biden tryig to take a page from Trump's 2016 'race card' play/'birther campaign' strategy to attract 'white vote' in 2020?

The same 'Obama factor' may not necessarily be there in 2020 . And post-2016 Trump and 2004-12 Obama are not exactly same on social liberlism policies even if there is an overlap.

Who in the top 10 is a sleazeball? Looks like all 10 provide products or services that I use. https://www.forbes.com/forbes-400/#347b97c77e2f

So because you use their product they cannot be corrupt? EDIT: Not meaning to be snarky but that's kind of irrelevant to Bloomberg's character. You can be both good at marketing and still be a manipulator.

I just don't trust the guy. He goes prancing around in red states where he is not welcome, pushing gun control and blowing millions of dollars on campaigns to disarm Americans.

Dude practically bought out the state legislature of Virginia. One fell swoop. It wouldn't surprise me a bit if he's done it at other times to get ahead in the "free" market.

The good news is that if you listen to his speech, it is really easy to make the argument that his gun control policies are racist. He wants to get the guns out of the hands of minorities.

I read his book a few weeks back. He didn't buy anything. He got fired from his job at an investment bank and went out on his own. And had two major innovations. He provided reliable data on stock prices before the internet and online brokerages to people at home. And developed a platform to disseminate news on stocks that most people on Wall Street still use because it is the best and pay a fortune for it.

A lot of people get rich from inheritance or cronyism. Donald Trump is a good example. Michael Bloomberg got no special favors.

They all say that.

He is 100% right and all the conservatives rushing to drag him for this are placing the knives on their own throats. Conservative Inc. types relish any opportunity to call a lefty a racist, it's pathetic. I understand you can't necessarily publicly agree with such wrongthink, but jumping at the opportunity to "own the libs" like this is counterproductive, to say the least.

I must have slipped into a parallel universe or else my sarcasm detector is broken. Pretty sure the race card is a leftist tactic, at least it has been for the past decade, solidly. So when someone on the right points out the hypocrisy suddenly they're "relishing any opportunity to call a lefty a racist"?

Dude, the left IS racist. All they ever see is skin tone. Even a black man who walks away from the democrats is ridiculed and shamed as a 'traitor to his race.' and they'll slap an "uncle Tom" label on him to keep him on the plantation.

Like honestly, where have y'all been?
