Bloodbath at Pittsburgh Gym-6 dead 15 wounded

I certainly hope that those I care about (including myself) are never in this type of situation.

yet, when I hear these stories ... some things come to mind.

He fired 36 rounds. He killed 3 people, injured 9. My knowledge of guns is limited ... but that does sound like too impressive a marksman.

At what point will people start ganging up and attacking these loonies? Cowering and waiting for him to come over and shoot you doesn't sound like a good strategy. Six people saying "let's get him" sounds a lot more effective. In many situations you'd have fewer casualties and the gunman could still be held for prosecution.

If I were in such a situation, I hope I'd have the courage to act as I think I should.

That is a really sad incident and by no means do I want to defend the shooter but read this:

http://wikileaks.fi/leak/george-sodini-diary-2009.pdf

That's his diary and I got to say that it's pretty hard reading. Nothing will justify the shooting but after reading his stuff I'm not THAT hard on him.

Anyone who wants to leave this world, well, what can one say? Anyone who feels the need to take other people with them when they go is just another murderous psycho. Unless they're sure they're protecting someone by doing it, they have neither reason nor excuse not to take that step alone.
