Blood test for life insurance; should I do it?

I've been looking into a term life insurance policy. My indy agent found Erie to have the best rates. They require an exam, which includes a blood sample and cheek swab.

I'm not too keen on giving my DNA to an insurance company to be logged in a database; would there be any reason to move forward with this? I can only imagine the things they could do with a private DNA database of citizens, least of which is turning it over to Big Sis (since eventually it will end up there).

Are there other companies that don't require blood tests for term life policies? Me thinks there are and should ship around on my own.

I believe there are life insurance policies that don't require blood tests, but they are harder to find.

It should say on the consent forms what they need your blood for and what they'll do with it. Read that first and see if it's worth it.

Also, pretty much all of them ask for your medical history even if they don't do a blood test.

There must be some life insurance companies who doesn't require your dna or blood tests. However, its tough to find them and they at the least require your past blood sample that should've been taken 6-12 months before. It depends on the company and you've to enquire your local insurance commissioner to know the exact details.
