*** Blimp Launch Photo's ***

So putting the banner on today means it would be stuck in the hangar for weeks on end, but putting the banner on Sunday it won't be? The story gets more illogical every moment.

It has to do with weather conditions... personally, i'm tired of explaining this over and over... do a search, we have a huge knowledge base here to answer all of your questions.

WTF. Maybe you should have read the other 50 posts on the topic. Personally, I'm tired of explaining this over and over. Do a search. This fantasy idea that the wind will above 7 knots continously for days or weeks on end is a complete joke. It would NOT have gotten stuck in the Fing hangar! It is a lame and nonsensical excuse.

ok, you are right. everyone is lying to you and out to get you and steal your money. we are outed... sorry, you are just the butt of an ongoing joke.

There was a lengthy discussion about this last night, the overwhelming majority wanted the second banner put on before the launch, the wind was forecast to be less than the limit to dehangar the blimp, that turned out to be true. What don't you understand?

Let's all get in your time machine and go change the past.

That's not the point, I don't appreciate rudely being told that I don't know what I'm talking about and that I need to do a search before I post...when in fact the reverse is true and we spent 4 hours on here last night explaining the wind situation and why they should have just waited for the second banner.

I never saw a blimp representative say that 7 MPH wind would keep the blimp in the hangar for weeks, but that's what you're claiming. I did see them say it might do so for a couple days, and that's entirely possible. I'm not crazy about one banner, but that's what happened.

To borrow from Rumsfeld, you go to early primary states with the blimp you have, not the blimp you want. In a couple days it will all be remedied.

So your a thousand hour qualified 200ft long blimp pilot to make these types of decisions? Where did you get all this experience to make the these types of decisions? What blimps did you fly? How long ago did you last fly your blimp? Is your blimp IFR license current? I assume all this because you act like someone that has this knowledge to tell others that have what they should do.

This has already been discussed. The options we had were (a) launch with one banner, or (b) wait for suitable winds to launch with both banners. It has nothing to do with needing to be blimp pilot to make that decision, it has nothing to do wth safety, or weather, as both options are equal in safety; it has to do with whether the blimp should be launched finished or just half finished. And almost everyone chose the second option. The only people who wanted the first option were under the false impression that the blimp could be stuck in the hangar for a week or more which is utterly preposterous. That is not how wind works.

Maybe, as it is being shown already in the news reports, that it is helping to get media attention right now for the teaparty and won't it circle back in a few days to the hanger to get the second banner? More pr for the teaparty the better.

Actually, most I saw were saying to get that blimp in the air no matter what today. I know I was.

Photos made of pure AWESOME and WIN!!!

Never ending complaining and trolling made of fail.

ManfromLaMancha/kylejack, I respect your opinions. :) All I was saying was that launching with both banners was a perfectly viable option, a lot of us could have dealt with another day or two delay. But for saying that I was told I'm clueless and that I need to search before I post. That was totally uncalled for, I was here when the story unfolded last night, he wasn't, HE should have been the one to search. I could have done without the rudeness. I won't post about it anymore :)

Not meaning to be rude, but my assumption of a company like the blimp people that deals with weather and generating pr with the blimp would know best and we who have no experience in this field can hardly tell them their business.

And the rest of the Kill Devil Hills Ron Paul Meetup Group (ronpaul.meetup.com/471) except for the guy on the left, he was a reporter.

Oh and I made the license plate sign! Ya dig!?

I never got the impression from the looooong threads last night that this was really about the weather - so much as meeting publicity dates for the launch.

Anyway, spilled beer at this point. Let's hope they get the other banner on soon.
