I agree that liberals through media outlets like MSNBC have been vilifying patriots since the 90s. I did not say I agreed with the article and I did not even read it due to the source ("a liberal web-based political journalism organization").

My point was not to help them by giving TPM traffic by added diggs and that violence at this point would likely play right into their hands which would destroy the mass support we currently have.

I'm sorry, I have to disagree with everyone here.

Sure, he should have the right to carry an automatic rifle wherever he wants but it doesn't make it a good idea. At a political even you should be fighting with ideas. You and I might see this and think that it is a great show of patriotism and exercising rights but everyone else is going to think it is someone trying to bully, intimidate, and end debate.

How would we feel if a bunch of neocons decided to show up at a Ron Paul rally with AKs. This thing just feels like a can of worms that shouldn't be opened.

I see your point, but that's why we just have to start doing it more. If there are 4 or 5 people with guns at every protest, people will just get used to it. That way, the stigma will gradually go away, and there will be less pressure for new gun laws.

As you saw, Chris debated a liberal woman just fine when he had the gun strapped to his back. I think the key thing, as I've been saying for weeks now, is to not come across as angry and disrespectful. The best way to get liberals on our side is through exposure. We need to be seen by them, and we need to talk to them.

And one more thing, we all need to be aware of agent provacatuers. You know if this thing takes off, somebody will try to give a crazy guy a gun and send him to a town hall meeting.
