So I bought some bitcoin for the first time today using bitinstant to mt.gox. My question is how do I transfer these bitcoins to my personal wallet or another exchange such at btc-e? thanks for the help

Click funding options

Then withdraw

Then select btc from the drop down box

Enter the btc address you want to send to.

If I'm in a hurry I check the box to pay the .0005 fee for faster processing, but have not noticed a significant difference in time even when not paying the fee.

The open transaction option only applies if you are transferring to another mtgox btc address, but I always check the box anyways.

If your environmentally conscious you can click the green address but it may take longer, to be honest I don't know much about that option but have never used it.

I recently sent some btc to btc-e and it seems ok, but has had some downtime though not nearly as much as gox.

Right, I have my addresses. I just don't see the option on mt.gox to actually transfer the bitcoin to a different address. Am i missing something obvious?

so i attempted to transfer some over to btc e... should i be worried if they dont show up immediately?

it says on btc-e I have 0 btc. But when i go to make a deposit it says
Uncommitted transactions:
+3.00050000 BTC, 1 confirmations, 02:52 15.04.13

not sure what to do

It takes 6 confirmations, to be finalized, six different miners confirm the transaction authentic before its final.

Just give it some time, as it processes this is normal.

Sending from personal wallet to personal wallet is instantly seen.

If going from exchange to exchange, it will take longer. Give it time.
