bitcoin chip-in to raise money for grassroot groups?

I think that the official campaign cannot accept bitcoin donations, because of the cash-like anonymous nature of bitcoin and the fact that non-Americans aren't allowed to donate directly, as well as the $2500 individual contribution limit (which could easily be circumvented if bitcoins were allowed for political campaign contributions).

But there aren't any such restrictions on grassroot groups that might want to raise money (including money from non-Americans, many people who like bitcoin are libertarian-minded) and make good use of this money in early primary states by increasing Ron Paul's exposure to potential voters.

So if some credible group organizers (e.g. with many posts in this forum) can have a website with bitcoin chip-in where they specify what the money will be used for (signs, reaching out to independent voters, etc.), and maybe maintain a list of donors, where each donor can decide if he wants to give his full name or remain semi-anonymous, then I think that there's a good chance to raise serious money?

BTW, if someone is concerned that he couldn't actually spend the bitcoin contributions that were received because the bitcoin economy is too small so far, but still believes that bitcoin will maintain its value or become more valuable in the future, then just note that money is fungible, i.e. you can keep the bitcoins and spend a similar amount of your own fiat dollars for now.
