Bill Maher wants Ron Paul to curse

that is a darn good idea. but you don't have to replace words, just add bleeps in front of them. excellent idea, the campaign should do this.

This idea is SO good, that the grassroots should try to do it.. though the campaign has a bit more access to Ron than we do.

I was thinking it would appear more natural to insert the *BLEEP* over actual words to make it flow more naturally. Then, the original could be used as a companion piece. If someone (again, beyond my abilities) could get this up and going viral, Maher might be obliged to air it... plus, the viral hits to take viewers to other RP stuff.

It would be cool to see Ron reply with a short, informative and funny video response and post it an send it to him. Take advantage of the free media, make light of it and win.

Scene: Ron says hello and he heard about Bill's concern he doesn't swear. Ron talks about he likes to fo us on the issues that are important, lists a few like end the wars -drug war and those in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Lybia, and then ends my plugging his website and the ames straw poll and says ends saying something funny and using a silly non-swear word in his own style.

That would be the creative thing to do to milk some attention and help the video go viral....he could tie "not cursing" to DC or an issue..

I heard RP refer to two people as "bossum buddies" one time. IDR who though.. Maybe someone can find the tube?

Everyone should watch the MSU speech he gave back in April. He came very very close to saying a curse word. I couldn't believe it. I don't think it was intentional but it was very strange to almost hear him swear.

Also, Nick Gilespie from Reason was on and did an incredibly awesome job fighting Bill. Probably the best Liberty guest I have ever seen on the show.

That's great to hear, Im looking forward to watching it now. Nick is leagues above all the typical "conservative" types that Bill Maher usually has on to defend free-market positions.

I am not a video guy... so this is beyond my abilities. But, why not take a fairly short, high quality clip of Ron Paul talking about an important subject... say the economy. Then edit the video so all modifiers he uses are *bleeped*. That could be submitted to Maher's show to make him feel more comfortable with Ron not cursing... give the feel... without any compromise. Provide the original clip so they can show what he actually said.

Something like this... original:
"Economically the consequences will be that there's going to be a wholesale rejection of the dollar... and therefore we can print the money and we can spend the money and foreign countries take our money, then loan it back to us, so they're getting a bum rap."

Changed to this:
"Economically the *BLEEP* will be that there's going to be a wholesale *BLEEP* of the dollar... and therefore we can *BLEEP* the money and we can *BLEEP* the money and foreign countries take our *BLEEP*, then loan it back to us, so they're getting a *BLEEEEEPPP*."

It might be amusing enough for them to air.

I love the idea. I think the bleeped word should be GOLD.

"Until the 70's we were on the **BLEEP** standard."

"**BLEEP** has been money for thousands of years."

"People are saying that **BLEEP** is in a bubble."

He could send a 10 sec clip

"Heard ya called me out. Well dammit Bill, you know I don't pander."

:p

Yeah, I like this idea of "not pandering".

He could say something like "You know Bill, sometimes I do feel like cursing (laughs), when I see the bad state our country is in, the debt, the worsening economy, the wars, the bailouts, the corporatism & the sheer unwillingness of people here in Washington DC to learn about & solve these problems but I somehow resist the temptation of swearing (laughs) because it does nothing to solve any of these problems anyway, it'll take some really positive action from people here in Washington DC but for that to happen, the people need to elect the right people that want to solve these problems, not the establishment candidates, not the candidates who want to keep the status quo. And as you might know, Bill, I don't pander for the votes, I never have & never willl, that's why other Congressmen nicknamed me Dr. No because I have never voted for any unConstitutional bills so forget it, I'm not going to curse just to secure your vote. (laughs)"

Something like this would be GREAT, very short & to the point, hopefully it'll get some of Bill's viewers to AT LEAST look up Ron Paul.

Like this?

There is nothing inherently uneducated about swearing. It is all in the mindset.

You are F*#@ing right. Why, we should just F*#@ all other F*#@ing adjectives and F*#@ing use F*#@ing curse words to F*#@ing describe what the F*#@ we're trying to say. I mean F*#@ guys like F*#@ing Ron Paul for ever trying to raise the F*#@ing bar of the English F*#@ing language.

Nice f***ing slippery slope fallacy.

Ron is NOT refraining using curse to pretend to be a gentleman.
He IS a well behaved gentleman who has nothing to prove to anyone including Bill.
