Biggest Upset in Sports?

I don't follow European football (ok- soccer over here) but the odds of Leicester winning the UK Premier League title was 5,000 to one at the start of the season. It is their first title in 132 years.

One of the greatest underdog stories ever. We can't really compare this to anything in the U.S. Our major sports, MLB, NFL, NBA leagues are all about parity. Even a bad team can get lucky with a few draft picks and eventually rebuild and compete. But in European soccer the same teams win every single season because they have so much more money than the others. I've watched the EPL for years and have been following Leicester all season. It's not like they have a playoff where a team can sneak in and get hot and win. They are champions because they won the most points over 38 games. Truly remarkable.

Very interesting. Man U is the only team I'm familiar with, and Pele is the only player besides Beckham I know.

Gotta love an underdog. Especially one that defeats the giant commercial behemoths. Way to go, "Lester".
