Big Question: What Will Ron Paul Say on the Jay Leno Show?

Insulting to who?

Ron Paul will not be eligible for the Presidential position on the Libertarian Party ticket in all 50 States.

The sore loser laws means he'll only be able to slide in as VP. If you wanted Ron Paul as your President, why were the mods deleting all the "run third party" threads down months ago?! Seems you have shot yourself in the foot.

check out those sore loser laws, they really aren't an issue because you vote for electors: http://www.ballot-access.org/2007/0...t-generally-apply-to-presidential-candidates/

and all 50 states isn't necessary anyhow, and it doesn't look like the LP will have all 50 with Gary either, does it?

What counts for debates is the national polling, and Ron multiple times polled higher than 15% as third party, and Gary just polled 1% in Rasmussen national.

But the LP has to think it is worth it, obviously, or it won't happen.

The New American article quotes Ron as not telling people who to vote for, so I doubt he'll be endorsing anyone.

Matt Larson made a video saying there would be an "announcement." But who is the heck is Matt Larson?

He got that from Matt Collins' thread here inviting speculation on 'what will Ron announce' before which there was no thought that he was 'announcing' anything. Matt has run threads like that before and what was announced, if anything, was really trivial and people went away angry because of the hype. If Ron doesn't know if he's running as of a day or so ago, and thinks likely not, I don't see there being a big announcement, except something like Ron heading up C4L, which might have been taken as a big deal if Matt hadn't invited people to speculate to their imagination's limit.

Does anyone know what day it was announced that Ron would be going on Leno?

I thought it was weird, too, that he was leaving the RNC the day before Rand's speech, and through a tropical storm, no less.

Something's up, but I don't know what.

This is Ron Paul's last real shot to go out with a bang. I'm hoping for something big.

Yay, Matt. I'm starting to see why so many people shrug him off.

9/4

What is his function anyway? What exactly does he do? I only ask since he puts himself out there as some sort of public figure. Not trying to be mean spirited but I've watched a few useful idiots farmed in a couple of threads from days gone by.

There is no announcement. That was all internet hype.

It'll be a typical nice, post election interview like all losing candidates have with maybe a bit about the RNC situation.

Yes, I agree that there was no plan for an "announcement", let alone a "big" one.
But wouldn't you agree that the majority of Ron Paul interviews have often included some question as to the possiblity of his running independently?
I would find it strange if that where somehow not brought up in this instance. And, though perhaps not earth-shaking to the general public, any definitive response by Ron would certainly rise to the level of being a "big announcement" to us.

I'm sure by tomorrow, someone from his office will be calling him and begging him to say something to make the phone calls, emails, care packages stop.

Last time, Jay asked him if he was interested in working at the Fed- so he could eliminate his own job.

I LOL'd.

What evidence is there that Ron is making a "major announcement" on the tonight show?

I have no clue...I'm trying to figure that out. But I just got back from a camping trip where one of my friends who doesn't follow politics that much (or so I thought) asked me if I heard that Ron Paul was going to make a major announcement. I had to say no...I didn't hear about it. Something must be going on.

I just hope when Jay asks him what he is going to do now that the campaign is over that he doesn't say, "I am going to Disney World!"

A lot a people think Ron needs to rest, and maybe he does, but I would sure love to see him go out with a bang by running third party.
