Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), who came to the U.S. as a refugee from Somalia when she was a child, is blaming “white nationalism” for Customs and Border Patrol being overwhelmed by massive illegal alien migration at the Southern border that has forced the agency to temporarily detain migrants outdoors while being processed.

“This is abhorrent and inhumane. It’s without a doubt a reflection of what white nationalism is doing to our country. As a country, we have to acknowledge that this is how people are being treated here and decide that we are better and we must do better.”

Omar was reacting to a photo by the Washington Post’s Nick Miroff.

Bob Moore with Texas Monthly reported on the Border Patrol reaching “the breaking point”. Excerpt:

With hundreds of migrants huddled under a nearby bridge, the top U.S. border enforcement official on Wednesday made his strongest statement yet on the tens of thousands of migrant families now crossing the Mexican border. “Two weeks ago I briefed the media and testified in Congress that our immigration system was at the breaking point. That breaking point has arrived this week at the border,” Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Kevin McAleenan said at a news conference near El Paso’s Paso del Norte Bridge.

…“On Monday and Tuesday, CBP started the day with over 12,000 migrants in our custody. As of this morning that number was 13,400. A high number for us is 4,000. A crisis level is 6,000. Thirteen thousand is unprecedented,” McAleenan said. Included in that number are hundreds of people being held beneath the Paso del Norte Bridge, behind a chain-link fence topped with barbed wire. CBP has set up a tent under the bridge to allow some of the migrants to get out of the elements. Migrants typically stay there less than 24 hours before being moved to other facilities, officials said. After McAleenan concluded his press conference, dozens of migrants pushed up against the fence as media came over to them. They cheered when a group of four protesters began chanting “No estan solos” (you are not alone) and other slogans.

To make a fair comparison re: 'white mans culture circa early 1900's (lol); we would need to see how other cultures handled that issue around the same time. How did the Ottoman Turks deal with domestic violence, for example. I do not know, but I'm not going to condemn the past categorically until I see how it relates to the rest of the world's treatment of the same issue at the same time.

Facts. Anyone who isn't an idiot knows that "Mexican" is not a race but a nationality. The racial makeup of Mexico is in detail quite diverse but in general comes down to two categories- Native American and Spanish. And the split between the two tends to be roughly 50/50.
