Well drinking laws are bullshit so they shouldn't be targeting anybody.

Federal alcohol laws are BS. State alcohol laws maybe not.

What is bullshit is that the Federal government dangles money over the states heads to get them to participate in these programs.

Who the heck buys booze for a stranger? If someone asked me to buy them some, I'd look at them sideways and tell them to go away. I guess I'm just not a nice guy that way.

When someone takes money from the kid in exchange for booze, the contract is unenforceable because it is illegal so I can't see how this is considered petty theft if he doesn't return the kid his money.

When a car dealership sells a kid a loan to buy car who is under 18 years old , he doesn't have to pay the loan because he was a minor when he made the contract but he gets to keep the car. I wonder how this is different? Something tells me this isn't, and the cops are simply charging for petty theft when in reality if they went to court the charge wouldn't stick.

Hah. I wish Budweiser was the common place party beer. Unfortunately the majority of parties I attend are supplied with extra-poverty beers like Natural Light or Hamms. Makes Budweiser taste like heaven in comparison, which is saying something.

Hah yeah I used to get strangers to buy me alcohol. I'd never do that favor for anyone though.

I'd do it if I knew them and they were at least 16. If they are under 16 and want to drink and they want me to make it happen, then it'd be a judgement call and I'd most likely only do it if I were supervising.

A parent can give you alcohol but aside from that it is 21 everywhere.

I'm astonished people would willingly snitch on others and ruin lives without some real incentive like a plea bargain to do so. Maybe they're trying to pad their resume to get into the force, who knows. I've heard it can be very competitive in some places to get in, so I can only imagine t must be real good to be an enforcer these days.

Um, a snitch is someone that uses information shared with them because of trust and friendship to get that person in trouble.

Giving alcohol to minors is wrong. If they want booze, their parents can legally give it to them.

I stand corrected. Back in 1999, on my senior trip out of state, alcohol was served on the ferry IIRC.

+1 I'd find it odd for someone to ask me to buy anything for them. I've only once stopped to sign petitions, and don't plan to do it again without a really good reason.
