I don't think you're going to convince him that Trump so much as designed the cover.

And he's right. Trump the mediocre-at-best Christian hawking Bibles with Old Glory embossed right on the cover is hilarious. Just the accessory for when you're wrapped in said flag and carrying a cross around your neck.

That reminds me of many moons ago at Christmas when RP quoted Upton Sinclair (iirc) during an interview when he was asked about Mike Huckabee, saying that when fascism comes it will be wrapped in a flag and carrying a cross.

That quote is usually attributed to Sinclair Lewis rather than Upton Sinclair (though they are often confused, due to the similarity of their names).

However, there is no source even for the Lewis attribution (though he would probably agree with it, and it echoes sentiments found in his work - especially in his novel "It Can't Happen Here").
