I'm by no means a bootlicker, but there once was, at some point, something manly - masculine - and noble, dignified, honorable and SELFLESS about making oneself available to protect one's family, community, even country (where that has any real meaning). That this government, which I think most of us at this point consider to be not a representation of us but an occupying force, peddles in this sort of debauched self-aggrandizement and the amplification of moral turpitude is an utter insult - a pissing on the graves of men who gave the last full measure (to borrow the words of an American tyrant) - to the true heritage of what America should or could have been.
I despise these defectives, not because they're mentally ill (as they are), but because they have no shame. But I despise far more the people who enable them, and gave them the idea that it was okay to broadcast their nonsense, and to recruit unaware and innocent generations into their depravity.
It is too, too late for this country, sadly. But the one, great thing about America is that it is not a place, it is not a culture - it is an idea. And that idea can be re-pollinated anywhere, at any time, with just the right number of cold, deadly serious people who are willing to stake their very lives, and frankly the lives of their families on it.
The essential American soul is hard, isolate, stoic, and a killer. I has never yet melted.
