As a lad we not only had a local operator she ran a real-life switchboard....

We were one of a handful of families who had single party lines...

Do you know about two-party phone lines?

The switchboard looked like a single person version of this-n....

Ya, sharing a phone line with your neighbor.. good way to get caught cheating or something. I only know about them from hearing stories that happened 30-40 years before my time..
