The limousine that was set on fire during the anti-Trump anarchist protest in downtown Washington on Inauguration Day is owned by a Muslim immigrant who says the damage could cost his company $70,000.
Muhammad Ashraf, the owner of Nationwide Chauffeur Services, spoke with the Washington Examiner's sister publication, Red Alert Politics, about what happened:
In an exclusive interview with Red Alert Politics, Ashraf said he wasn't a supporter of Donald Trump during his campaign, but Friday's protests were completely counter-productive.
"I have a different point of view," Ashraf told Red Alert. "I did not agree with many of the things he said, but that still does not give me the right to go and affect someone's livelihood."
Ashraf noted that the Women's March on Washington and in other cities around the country was a model for how to peacefully protest.
"I really don't think we need to take this [violent] route."
Ashraf's employee, Luis Villarroel, 58, was dropping a client off at their destination when things turned ugly. Protesters smashed doors and windows in the vicinity, but then turned their attention to Villarroel and the limo. People began pounding on the car and started throwing stones and bricks in his direction. The driver ended up going to the hospital for cuts on his hands and arms from glass being shattered by thrown projectiles. […]
"[We've] been in business for over 25 years and this is the first time this has happened," Ashraf said.

Another report that does not mention hospital treatment.

Insurance likely won't cover the damage to a limousine set on fire during an Inauguration Day protest in Washington, the limo company president says.
Muhammad Ashraf, the president of the Virginia-based Nationwide Chauffeured Services, said Monday that replacing the car could cost tens of thousands of dollars. Insurance would cover vandalism but may not cover his situation because the car was damaged in a riot, he said.
More than 230 people were arrested after self-described anti-capitalists began breaking the windows of businesses, the limo and an emergency vehicle Friday, the day of President Donald Trump's inauguration. Court paperwork says the group did more than $100,000 in damage.
Ashraf said his family-owned business, based in Alexandria, Virginia, has a fleet of approximately 30 limousines, party buses and other vehicles and has been in business for 25 years. He called the limousine's destruction "a very sad situation." He said the limousine was one of two vehicles of that kind owned by the company and was in heavy demand around the inauguration.
Not having the vehicle means he's losing business, he said.
"I just can't imagine why people had to do these things," he said.
Luis Villarroel, the car's driver, said he had dropped off clients and was parked when he saw the protesters. He said about six people smashed the car's windows with bricks, a piece of wood and, he believes, one or more hammers.
He said it was clear the group didn't have any intention of hurting him.
"It was very clear that these kids only wanted to damage the property," he said.
He said after the car's windows were broken, someone threw a flare inside but he was able to stamp out the flame. About an hour and a half later, however, a policeman told him he should leave the area because "things were getting ugly." He later got photos of the vehicle on fire, he said.
The company had sent another limousine to pick up the clients, this one a Hummer, and he stayed with the second driver as they picked up their clients.
Villarroel, who has driven for the company for about nine years, said he was disappointed by what happened.
The demonstrators thought of a limo as a "symbol of richness or power," but that's not true, he said. He said powerful people more often request a sedan or SUV, and the limo gets used for proms and parties.
All the cars are tolls to make a living, he said, adding, "We drive everyone."
Is that before or after Jesus' command to steal your neighbors wealth to give away?
I so love to point out AJ's hypocrisy ever since he call me, the Christian ANARCHIST, a "communist" on his program because I called to tell him something he needed to know...
Seraphim wanted me to PM an explanation but for some reason I cannot PM anyone on this board. It says I've exceeded my storage but even when I delete (some) messages it still does not let me send any PM so for Seraphim - here's the answer...
I don't have a link as this was some 10 to 12 years ago. AJ was on this trip about Chinese people eating fetus for health improvement and since my wife is Chinese and we go there once or twice a year I figured I'd do some investigating on our next trip. We went from one herbal store to another and even tried some dark narrow streets but no where could we find any such thing and indeed, they looked at us real strange when we asked about it.
There was also a website (no longer online) where they did investigation and found that the whole rumor was started by a Hong Kong tabloid like National Inquirer except for in Chinese. The "reporter" who started the the whole thing off was at that time working for another paper and refused to discuss his "scoop".
When I came home from China I called AJ with the intention of giving him the truth so his reputation wouldn't be tarnished by bad information but he choose to call me names instead saying that it's "obvious" I was some kind of communist sympathizer since I had a Chinese wife!!
In the next year I was still listening to his show (I was an avid fan) and when the subject would come up about how the evil Chinese were eating fetus I'd call him up to remind him of my own personal "research". I even invited him to come along with me to China and he could do some investigating himself but he said he didn't have the time...
I realized that he didn't want the truth if it meant he couldn't rave about what blood-thirsty animals the Chinese are so I finally had to write him off as just another idiot looking to make a buck by promoting hatred. I was sad to have to come to this conclusion.
Ya this is a huge problem. Given the choice, NO guy wants to be the bathroom guy. Every guy would prefer to be the Facebook guy. Notice he isn't anywhere to be found in the last picture.
Yet there are plenty of guys who would be willing to be the bathroom guy if the bathroom girl appreciated and cared for him. Women have always had a difficult time in general being appreciative, the government just makes it way worse.
Get the government out of marriage, alimony, the whole bit.
Personally I advised a P.I. If she's banished him from the bed for 2 yrs. she is getting something on the side. Guar-an-tee.
