That's so relevant, seeing how people were sacrificed to the "weather gods" back in Aztec,eg, times and other ancient societies. The "elite" of their day used their hidden knowledge of celestial events and cycles to slave drive everyone with fear propaganda about how the sun wouldn't rise tomorrow or the rains wouldn't come (Egypt) or similar fear mongering, if the people didn't do as the elite said, in order to win mass compliance. The sacrifices happened on the tops of pyramids to show the masses that the elite were closer to the gods than the masses were.

Exactly. Westboro Baptist are a bunch of blatantly anti-christian heretics. It is true that God condemns homosexual sin along with all other sins, but the only people who single out sodomy for either celebration or special condemnation... are the world. The true believer is one who is penitent for his own sins, and grieved for the sins of his countrymen. Staunch condemnation of sin has its time and place, as all things do, but billboarding damnation of selective sins is antichrist, it is doing the devil's work.

To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everyone else, Jesus told this parable: “Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other people—robbers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like this tax collector.
