Serious question: as you know, this whole crypto currency thing has me baffled, but, if you cannot access the internet in any way, how can you send, use or receive bit coins?
That has always been my sticking point. because I know it is a reality.

My $$# is the same really..

and my Father owns the cattle on a thousand hills,, the birds of the air will feed me.

also Reality.

Bottom line remains, if the intertubes were to be shut down completely, that would be the end of any savings you might have had in crypto currency.
I got a better idea:

Coins made of precious metals.

Liquid, transportable, denominational, secure, private, stable, universally accepted and don't require batteries.

;)

It's not an either/or! And nobody of any consequence in the BTC community is objecting to gold/silver... but if gold/silver were sufficient (politically and economically) to crush the Fed, it would have happened a long time ago. So they're getting away with their scam, in part, because hand-to-hand gold/silver coin are not competitive with modern banking services. Gold/silver can play a "backup" function in our monetary system without having to be widely used hand-to-hand. Nobody is going to be making in-game micropayments (for example) using gold/silver coins. And despite the rampant fetishization of a digital apocalypse on this and similar forums, the odds that it will actually happen are vanishingly small. So, the correct answer is not either gold/silver coin or Bitcoin... it is gold/silver AND Bitcoin. Even if the evil, conniving globalists have somehow managed to completely dupe me in respect to Bitcoin, the worst-case is that my savings have been split 50/50. Bad, but not apocalyptic bad. This is not complicated...
