Bernie Sanders Vox Interview

My thought is that Bernie is a self-declared socialist and thus he subscribes to a self-defeating and immoral system of theft. Any details after that are irrelevant.

*Democratic socialist. There is a difference.

Perhaps irrelevant to you, but I think he has a lot of good ideas, and I think this interview is great. After 2012, the republican party lost me forever because of the way they treated us. My values have also shifted closer to center left, so I no longer think of taxation as theft, but instead as the price of a civilized society.

I like Bernie Sanders a lot, and I'm probably going to vote for him next year.

Wow. Didn't know there were people who have been here for years like yourself who have no idea of basic economics.

Is anyone going to actually watch the video before commenting?

I did. He is clueless. And frankly, it is alarming to me that you would be so unprincipled in liberty to say you would support him. Much like the Trumpophiles here, maybe you should have never pretended to be a lover of freedom in the first place.

You guys have basically created a religion around your concept of "liberty", that has no heart or soul. When that guy shouted "let them die!" I thought it was just an odd case, but I see now, looking back, that it was not. That's just how you folks operate and the way you think. I believe that we must take care of the smallest of us. It's clear that you guys do not believe the same.

Good luck to you all.

That's not it at all. Some of us just cannot support someone who believes that the solution to liberty with heart and soul and how we should take care of the smallest should be done by force of law.

Right ... because if we oppose forcing other people to provide the means for us to enable our "compassion," then we must ipso facto be heartless, soulless bastards of the "let them die" variety ...

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Bastiat exposed this self-righteous bilge for what it is over a century-and-a-half ago ...

"Socialism, like the old policy from which it emanates, confounds Government and society. And so, every time we object to a thing being done by Government, it concludes that we object to its being done at all. We disapprove of education by the State - then we are against education altogether. We object to a State religion - then we would have no religion at all. We object to an equality which is brought about by the State - then we are against equality, etc., etc. They might as well accuse us of wishing men not to eat, because we object to the cultivation of corn by the State." - Frédéric Bastiat, The Law (The Bastiat Collection, pp. 66-67) [emphasis added]

Great quote for the gay marriage egalitarians here.

WE must take care of the smallest of us? What you are proposing is making people slaves of other people.

Posts like this confirm that many people who got into Ron Paul years ago were never really in the liberty movement. This goes for the new gay marriage egalitarians as well. They were never part of the movement and they don't understand liberty and freedom.

How one goes from supporting Ron Paul to thinking Sanders "has some good ideas" and "will probably vote for him".... MIND = BLOWN

Forced compassion is not compassion at all... Forcibly taking from those who earn it and giving to those that do not, is not noble nor is it charitable. I would go back and do some more soul searching about what rights are, where our rights come from, and what the government is constitutionally authorized to do. Any rational human being will conclude that a man like sanders is nothing more than a tyrant with so-called good intentions.

I am disappoint.

Taxation is theft!

You guys do see that as this thread started to discuss the actual economics and theories of libertarians and "liberty" ShaneEnochs stopped posting. Clearly us inhumane monsters aren't worth his time.

You are pathetic in your attempt to pretend to be generous and caring with other people's money and property. The libertarians that I know are very caring and generous with their own money. We do take care of one another and don't steal from our neighbors to do so. Please go sell your class envy bullshit over at Salon.
